[00:00:01] Speaker A: All right. Dealer and Hutch. So much for that. That Tuesday practice that everyone was so worried about. Jake, did you got the game in Alaska? Was it on over the air TV up there? [00:00:11] Speaker B: It was nice. I just had it on NFL plus. [00:00:14] Speaker A: Hey. So, hey, at least we're getting something from that subscription. [00:00:18] Speaker B: Shout out. [00:00:19] Speaker A: Hopefully you all get something from this subscription, too. Deer and Hutch, we're gonna do this thing live right after this foreign. We're live post game after the preseason. You cannot allege that we are not deeply, deeply unwell and sick. 49ers whooped the Chargers ass. I mean, kind of from the jump. Jake. [00:00:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:00:47] Speaker A: Big, big, big takeaways today. Any anything. Anything stand out? [00:00:50] Speaker B: Black's got the juice, man. Buddy. [00:00:52] Speaker A: Does he have. [00:00:53] Speaker B: Moving at a different speed. [00:00:55] Speaker A: He. He is out there with the intent of hurting someone. [00:01:00] Speaker B: He almost hurt himself. He got rocked in the thigh. Yeah. [00:01:04] Speaker A: I can appreciate a running back who is out there looking to deliver danger, and that's really what he's there for. I think he. He's instinctual and not a thinker. [00:01:16] Speaker B: I. [00:01:17] Speaker A: It's not in any way to imply that he's not a smart young gentleman. I've talked to him once or twice. Seems like a very capable young man, very bright future. That boy here to hit stuff. And if it doesn't work out for him as a running back, I'm sure they can find a spot for him as a linebacker. [00:01:32] Speaker B: It reminds me of every character in every game, like in Mario Kart, like Toad or like Kirby. He's not that small, but it's like sort of like the small character who moves fastest and just like is juiced up and powered up. [00:01:48] Speaker A: You just. [00:01:49] Speaker B: I don't think they have had that level behind from somebody not named Christian McCaffrey since probably Elijah Mitchell's rookie year. [00:01:58] Speaker A: Elijah Mitchell wasn't that big. Elijah Mitchell's issue was that he wanted to play that way and his body wasn't built to play that way. And Jordan Mason had a body built to play that way, but didn't want to play that way. [00:02:09] Speaker B: And he didn't move that way like he. Jordan Mason is more of like a power, fluid runner. [00:02:16] Speaker A: Mason wanted to do two or three cuts in the backfield. He was more J. Michael Hasty than he was Elijah Mitchell. And that's fine because he's a good running back, but it was also not the way that the Niners wanted to go about their business when you already have Christian McCaffrey, who is a very fluid runner. Right. He is somebody who. Yes, he can make people miss an open space. He can also deliver a hit, but his whole thing is just, you know, let the Stallion run. And to have somebody who is out there and is like, now I'm going through you like I'm the juggernaut is. That is exactly what they've been looking for. It's what they've been looking for and it's why when they drafted him, it was pretty obvious what the role was, which is he is third down, Thunder to lightning out here to deliver body blows. And that guy, if he can stay healthy, which is the ultimate question for everything 49ers has the makings of a absolute game changer in December, January, perhaps February. [00:03:17] Speaker B: It's tough because they keep doing the third round thing with the running backs. But I think you and I were both like, man, this one seems different. It does seem different. [00:03:24] Speaker A: I got it, I got it. They get a little narrow. [00:03:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Like Tyrion Davis Price. We're like, what is this? What is happening here? Trey Sermon. We're like, I, I kind of like Trey Sermon. Maybe Isaac Aranda was like, if it hits, it hits. [00:03:41] Speaker A: Right? [00:03:41] Speaker B: Hasn't happened. [00:03:42] Speaker A: Doesn't. Oh boy. [00:03:44] Speaker B: Correct. This one was like, this kid can play and he's got the measurables to go with it and doesn't seem to care about his well being. Did a lot of dirty stuff at Indiana. Like not, not like a dirty player. [00:03:56] Speaker A: But block. [00:03:58] Speaker B: They would ask him. He was sort of like running back. Yeah. [00:04:01] Speaker A: Yes. And I forget the name of their first running back who's a good player in his own right. But the Niners drafted Roman something. [00:04:10] Speaker B: Roman Hemby. [00:04:11] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Good player. Good player. Not as good as Black. But no, Black was always on the field on third down. That was evident today where. Yeah, you want Christian McCaffrey on the field on third down. But like, my God, the pass pro from, from Kalon Black was exceptional. Today we'll get into some of the other pass pro stuff with this team, but yeah, Black, Black has the juice. We saw it in OTAs. We've seen it in the very limited time he's been in training camp. You saw it on the tape at Indiana. He's. He's just gonna, I don't know if he'll ever be like fantasy relevant. He might be late in the season, he could be playoff, but he is going to be body willing in the NFL for a very long time. [00:04:55] Speaker B: He's gonna have some. He's gonna have a couple games where he goes for like one a buck 60, you know, like I, I think that's in the cards for him. [00:05:03] Speaker A: Will they talking Kevin Coleman? 20. 20. [00:05:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Like a couple games where McCaffrey goes out and you're like, oh my God, this kid's the truth. And then it just, it can't hold up over a long span of time. It's not a sustainable thing. [00:05:15] Speaker A: Right. [00:05:15] Speaker B: Either way, I don't care. I'm enjoying what I'm seeing. And he does all of the things that you need him to do, especially as like a non lead back. [00:05:25] Speaker A: Right. [00:05:26] Speaker B: You're like, all right, he's. He's going to do everything and he's got the juice to do it. [00:05:31] Speaker A: I will say this, the Niners and they have usually they're taking big swings pretty early and when it comes to the draft, the last two years, they early picks and forgive me, I might be missing somebody just off the top of my head, but like early picks, they have looked for more role players, right? [00:05:53] Speaker B: Yeah. They're like, we are bad at this. We're going to go with the one [00:05:57] Speaker A: guy we feel like good about doing that again though. I thought Trey looked lovely today. Good for Trey. Nice kid. But it is, it's. It's the Jonathan Kaminga versus, you know, Moses Moody school of drafting. [00:06:13] Speaker B: Right. [00:06:13] Speaker A: Like, first off, the Niners don't usually have a very high draft pick when they did. [00:06:17] Speaker B: I've been a Moses Moody guy for a long time. [00:06:19] Speaker A: How can you not be a Moses Moody guy? Low expectations. [00:06:22] Speaker B: I got into an argument like before Russell, Russell Westbrook retired. It was probably like when Moody was like a rookie, I was like, he's a better player than Russell Westbrook. [00:06:31] Speaker A: Okay. Today I got into a lot. The problem is I know exactly who you had that argument with. Yeah. And so I've never heard that before, but I know exactly who you had that argument with. [00:06:40] Speaker B: With. [00:06:40] Speaker A: It's, it's. [00:06:41] Speaker B: Listen, it would have been a perfect Colin Cowherd segment. [00:06:45] Speaker A: I actually, you know what, I will go fully aside here. We will get back to the studs and duds. My wife today asked me, oh, who was the initial? Oh, she, we had the Raiders game on before, right? And they say Kirk Cousins, you know, they keep cutting to Kirk Cousins on the sideline and Heather goes, kirk Cousins, is he the guy who won the super bowl that one time? And then I went, haha, no, no he didn't. And she goes, oh, who am I confusing him with? It's that guy came in, won the super bowl for the Eagles. And I go, are you confusing him with Nick Foles? Which is like awesome, sneaky, tangential ball knowledge that she, like, somewhere in her brain has Nick Foles in this woman's life. And so I'm like, yeah, that was Nick Foles. He's not really around anymore. He was kind of there for one incredible run and built a statue out of him and all that stuff. But Kirk Cousins is the all time bad getter. I walk away. I finish making dinner. About five minutes later, I go, that is like the best sports talk segment I've. I've ever heard. Would you rather have the career of Kirk Cousins, ultimate bag getter, or Nick Foles, who won a Super bowl and is forever immortalized in NFL lore? [00:07:55] Speaker B: It's a great question. [00:07:57] Speaker A: I think that you should go with Cousins because you made. I didn't look this up, but I presume about 150 million more. But boy, right? [00:08:05] Speaker B: But Nick Foles seems cooler by far. [00:08:08] Speaker A: Can't divide by zero. [00:08:09] Speaker B: I mean, it's not even a seam thing. It's. I would rather be Nick Foles than Kirk Cousins. [00:08:16] Speaker A: I think maybe you're going off of a different lore with Nick Foles, which we'd all rather have. [00:08:20] Speaker B: That's right. Back to the studs. Studs. [00:08:24] Speaker A: Okay. We. We have. We and I will do. I have spent a lot of time really hitching the whole Dieter and Hutch wagon to Dejan Stribling. Be the truth. [00:08:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:38] Speaker A: And, boy, we are. We are. It's going to pay off. Jake. I feel like, listen, payoff. [00:08:43] Speaker B: The thing, you know, it was funny, like when we did the draft guide and he was like the last guy in and someone's like, you didn't have him. Like, give me a sec. He. He's in there. Yeah, the dude. God damn it, man. I mean, just truly every single time he. And it's funny, I had, like, the theme. I just did, like, the quick write up on the stock report, and the theme was like, juice for me. Like, guys that are juice. Yeah, he's just juiced up Juwan where it's like that one play where he, like, blocked a guy into the ground and they were like, ready to throw hands for a second. And the broadcast in the preseason's got awful. No matter where you watch. [00:09:19] Speaker A: What was going on with the color saturation on K picks. [00:09:22] Speaker B: Luckily, I didn't get that feed. But even on the other feed, you [00:09:25] Speaker A: were watching the Chargers feed. [00:09:26] Speaker B: I had the Chargers feed. [00:09:28] Speaker A: That was so much better. [00:09:29] Speaker B: It. I. I'm sure it was better, but it's like, you don't get any replays. And the camera's cutting away from like two guys about to go at it. Striblings just like ready to throw hands with whoever. And he catches like it doesn't matter how closely he's guarded. It doesn't matter. And again, I don't know that he's not getting immense separation, but he's getting enough. [00:09:51] Speaker A: He's getting, he's getting a good deal of it. He's a He. He can win in, man. There's still certainly some polish that needs to be put on the old routes, but it's very good as it stands. He had a sit route today where the ball came in kind of low and by the knees. And he didn't just do kind of that, you know, fall down, basket catch thing. He went out and at his knees, plucked it away from his body with both hands. And you're like, oh, that ain't, that ain't normal. [00:10:19] Speaker B: Jordan Watkins needs to watch film of Dijon stribling because it's like, go get the ball. It's, it's. It's like the thing of, you know, when you, you get taught how to, like, if Ron Washington's coaching your grounders right, and he turns Louis Surais in one year to. To a great defensive second baseman, what [00:10:38] Speaker A: happened, what happened to, to Willie Adamus, though? I guess his back. [00:10:41] Speaker B: Well, he doesn't exist. But it's like the thing of, like, you. You don't want to let the ball come to you, right? You got to go get it. You got to go get it. And there's just. You can probably listen. I know there's like, coaching is a part of it, but at this point, like, you should have an understanding of like, go attack the ball and stripling just. I mean, does it. Does it better than a lot of people I've seen in the league. [00:11:06] Speaker A: He's got some massive mitts, like preternaturally large mitts to begin with, and he knows how to use them. There's some guys that actually, I would argue that, like, having really big hands kind of works against them. They're a little clunky. No one's coming to mind off the top of my head, but I know that that's been a thing. It's kind of free throw shooting logic for big men in the NBA. Like, you can't control it. But like, he has predator naturally large hands for a man his size, and he's a big guy by receiver standards. And yeah, he knows exactly what to do. And it did show up on tape at Ole Miss. I thought it showed up even more at Washington State, but, like, not like this. And they drafted him on personality, they drafted him on blocking, and they drafted him on dig routes, and he is giving them so much more than just that. And he has been every bit as advertised on those three things that they're like, yeah, we can work with this as a big slot right now. Mike Evans has had a hamstring injury for the last five years. He's gone on the injury report with a hamstring thing. And every year for the last five [00:12:10] Speaker B: years, Mike Evans, Trent in the ankle, right? [00:12:12] Speaker A: Yeah. And I don't know, he might play all 17, but be on the injury report for 14 of those and be in the games. Like, I don't know. I don't know. But I imagine that we're going to get a sixth hamstring injury seeing as he's already gotten two injuries in training camp. When he plays, he is clearly of a different echelon than like, any other. Like, I haven't seen a receiver do what he does where it's just so fluid and effortless and kind of strange. It's like on unwieldy, you don't quite understand how it's happening. Those are the greats. Like, Devonte Adams had the same sort of thing. And Devonte. [00:12:48] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm sure it's a little like. It's like lamarcus Aldridge. Can I make that comparison where it's like, awkward but smooth? [00:12:56] Speaker A: Yes. He still gets to a spot, baby. Yeah. Evans just separates. He takes like half of the steps that everybody else takes, and he just separates. And he's done it for more than a decade. Stripling is not like that. But it would not shock me. First off, they. We've already seen partially through necessity. We've already seen him go from. He's going to be our third down guy. We feel really good about that because we can inline him. We can use him as a blocker if we want to run on third down, kind of use him as a quasi f tight end in a way. Like, he. He's. He's our move tight end. And that made a lot of sense. Strong hands, good contest. He's Juwan Jennings, but younger. And then they get him into camp and I start losing my mind, and people behind the scenes are kind of like, I. It's more than that. And then, you know, Pierce all goes down and they're like, okay, bring in Debo. And Debo comes in and they're like, oh, it's all the same things that we saw the last time Debo was here, but now lighter, which is great for Debo. And he'll be a player, he'll make plays, but he cannot be a focal point. And so then they're like, well, Bump, you know, Watkins hasn't performed well. Cowing's been out of the lineup. You don't have Christian Kirk at all. And they're like, put Stribling at the the Z. Because the initial plan was he was the flanker and he would be the backup X and they would train him at X for when Evans hamstring went. Then he'd be the X that day in. He would do a lot of mandatory clear outs, a lot of mandatory outside releases and just get those dig routes over the middle for everybody else, namely Pearsall. And that plan went to hell immediately. And now they're like, yeah, try zibbling at C or try dribbling at the Z. Wow. [00:14:38] Speaker B: Zibbling, zibling. [00:14:41] Speaker A: And yeah, they're just like, he's already got one in his name. I mean, easy, easy transition. And it's like, oh, that also works too. And I imagine you put them at X, it would work too. Some guys just got it. Some guys just got it. Got it. [00:14:53] Speaker B: What's astounding is how prescriptive they are with their wide receivers, how Shanahan has been such a stickler and so literally so specific to an annoying degree of just like, here's what it takes, here's what it requires to go at any one of these positions. And we can only train them at 1 at any single moment. [00:15:11] Speaker A: We cross train them though, at Stribling. [00:15:14] Speaker B: Stribling. They're just like, okay, all of it. Fine. Play, play all of them great. [00:15:20] Speaker A: I, I was, I am on the record that Dijon stribling could have a Puka Nukua like output in his great year. I had that after the first training camp practice and boy, I am going to circle the wagons with. I'm going to clip it and I'm [00:15:38] Speaker B: going to doing the, the Vince McMahon in the chair where he's getting like five fired up. That's just been Deeter for the last two weeks. [00:15:45] Speaker A: He's like, it's, it's just, it's really fun to watch somebody that doesn't require much analysis to understand how good they are. Yeah. And to be fair, like, that is also the case with like an Evans. It's also the case with like Trent Williams. Doesn't make any Damn sense. Christian McCaffrey. Doesn't make any damn sense. Like, the great players don't make any damn sense. Everybody else is a role player. Like, if I can explain you, you're a role player. That is a wonderful place to be. I could explain K. Lon Black. I cannot. Right. I cannot explain Dijon Stripling. I can't explain it. It doesn't make any sense. It just works. [00:16:18] Speaker B: It's so funny because it's. It's like. You know that the bell curve chart where it's like, dumb people, he's good. Smart people, he's good. Yeah. It's just. [00:16:26] Speaker A: It's just I am. I am both the man in the hood and the drooling idiot at the same time. [00:16:30] Speaker B: That's right. It's beautiful. It's. Yeah. There's not much. We talked about it a lot. There's not even that much to be said. He just is a. He just balls. Like, some guys are just ballplayers. And it's like, again, Juwan was that. But Juwan had no athletic ability whatsoever. [00:16:46] Speaker A: You could explain. [00:16:47] Speaker B: He was a bottom five percentile athlete. [00:16:49] Speaker A: Correct. You could explain Juwan in that he just wanted it more than you. [00:16:53] Speaker B: Right. [00:16:54] Speaker A: And why sometimes you got to have a Zach Randolph on the low block, baby. Just. He wants it more than you. It doesn't. It doesn't make any sense athletically, but it really does make all the sense in the world when you just break it down. This guy, he doesn't really make any sense. And we haven't even seen the speed yet because they haven't put him in positions to just go burn somebody. [00:17:15] Speaker B: Yep. [00:17:15] Speaker A: And that's coming. And I think that you're all going to be pretty surprised when you see it happen in a game, because he just leaves him in the dust. It's. Should. [00:17:29] Speaker B: Should we talk about the other receiver, receivers, whatever that's. [00:17:35] Speaker A: There is, buddy. [00:17:36] Speaker B: Say a sixth position. It is. So it's stribling. It's Mike Evans. It's DeMarcus Robinson. [00:17:43] Speaker A: Yes. [00:17:44] Speaker B: It's Debo Samuel. [00:17:45] Speaker A: Yep. [00:17:46] Speaker B: It's Christian Kirk. If Christian Kirk is healthy, that's a big factor here. Do they put him on IR and clear another spot that way? If that. If he's healthy, that's five. [00:17:56] Speaker A: If Christian Kirk shows up to work this week, it's going to be a thing. [00:18:00] Speaker B: It's five. [00:18:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:18:01] Speaker B: And then you've got six. Maybe they do seven. Who knows? [00:18:06] Speaker A: You can carry seven. [00:18:06] Speaker B: I don't think you can afford to with the way some of this is constructed. [00:18:10] Speaker A: So the question is, to be fair, the Patrick Taylor thing did clear out the sincere McCormick role, so we don't have to worry about that anymore. Not that sincere McCormick was going to, like, pressure him to make the roster, but he's really good on special teams, too. [00:18:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:25] Speaker A: Something you can say about a lot of guys on this team right now. And yeah, I mean, they, they weren't keen to. They weren't keen to cut them, but now they don't really have to. And I think that, yeah, having Patrick Taylor, they're just like IR, just, just season long IR. No one knows what. Yeah, season long IR. And now it's sincere McCormick's gig, which is cool for him. [00:18:49] Speaker B: But back, which might be on the practice squad, though, which I would bet that's how they do that. [00:18:54] Speaker A: We'll find out. We'll find out. Because right now, yeah, maybe they carry [00:18:58] Speaker B: Garendo or they don't carry Grando, they just carry three. Three running backs and then have a fourth jump up from the practice squad anyway. [00:19:06] Speaker A: They might have to do that with their offensive line situation. [00:19:08] Speaker B: They might have to do that. They might have to do with a lot of different spots. Wide receiver. Yeah. I don't know. I didn't see Malik Turner today. Was he hurt? Is he hurt? [00:19:16] Speaker A: I did not see Malik Turner either, which is disappointing. Maybe he was so goddamn awesome that [00:19:22] Speaker B: they could, like, listen, we. We're putting you on the practice squad. [00:19:26] Speaker A: I thought looked good. I think every time I see him play, I'm like, there's something there. That guy's an NFL player. [00:19:33] Speaker B: The two guys. Yeah, it's Jacob Cowing and Jordan Watkins. And both of them give me the ick. [00:19:41] Speaker A: Okay, let's. Let's break down the count. So Cowing had a lovely, wonderful, tremendous punt return. [00:19:48] Speaker B: Tremendous. [00:19:49] Speaker A: He then had two, you know, inauspicious stone hands. [00:19:53] Speaker B: Absolutely stone hands. [00:19:55] Speaker A: So he had the bad drop coming in. I think it was third quarter. I was just. We were texting about Watkins. Cowing. I was tweeting about it, getting in fights and I just go like. It's not as if Cowing, like, has this job on lock. I think they see the punt return, right? There's your punt returner. And it's like, yeah, except he sucks. Like, are they going to fully sky more him? I'm not sure they can because he's not that good at this. And I thought he looked pretty shaky on this first one where he just let it bounce and there was nothing but room. He's like, I'll let it bounce. It's like, why are you doing that? Go up there and Fair catch it, Bubs. So, you know, good thing he made up for that. But he had two. They weren't drops, but they were on him. [00:20:36] Speaker B: Yeah. Where Mac Jones. You're like, oh, did Mac overthrow him? It's like, oh, no, he's just short. He's just tiny. [00:20:41] Speaker A: He's just tiny. He had one where it was an out. You know, it's a intermediate out to the sidelines, balls in his hands. Just gets. Absolutely. But it's like, yes. [00:20:50] Speaker B: It's like he shrinks. [00:20:51] Speaker A: Shown up all the time in practice where you're like, how is it possible that they keep throwing him the ball and it's almost intercepted and at a certain point, it's about the receiver. [00:21:00] Speaker B: Yeah. And so it's like, all right, you get the advantage. Right? Leader in the clubhouse because you. Because you have the punt return. Right. That's fantastic. Tremendous job. They need somebody who can return punts. And if, if it's him, Debo. [00:21:17] Speaker A: So bad. And Debo's like, I ain't doing this. [00:21:20] Speaker B: Debo's like, I do not have an incentive for my contract on Bonds. [00:21:25] Speaker A: They really. They really should have put it in there because he might be. [00:21:28] Speaker B: I'm dead serious. I bet. I bet he's like, yeah. [00:21:31] Speaker A: I mean, I don't. I barely seen him return punts in practice. You know, you don't even need to conjecture about this. He is out there half assing it in practice, which he's like, he doesn't. I don't want to do this. Debo's work ethic cannot be questioned when it comes to. On the field, playing the game. Right. He loves football. And then you watch him return punts and you're like, oh, this dude's a grab ass. Like, this dude's. This is slap dick stuff. He had one on. [00:21:59] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:00] Speaker A: Sunday where the punt's coming down. Cloudy day, not, you know, no wind, nothing comes down. And it's like six feet away from his body and he lets it bounce off his hands and he's just like, whatever. So he doesn't want to do it. And I don't blame him. [00:22:17] Speaker B: No. [00:22:18] Speaker A: But they wanted him to do it for a reason. Then cowing does that. Watkins didn't look great in that regard. Pauling didn't look in that regard with walkings. [00:22:27] Speaker B: Well, because he's just. It doesn't. It's. It's like they gave him so much Runway. Cowing was not out there. It was like, all right, go take the job. And he's like, absolutely not. I have no Interest. [00:22:41] Speaker A: I thought he looked. I thought he looked fine against Tennessee as a receiver and as a punt returner. [00:22:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:47] Speaker A: But then I'm watching the tape back. Watch in the moment, I'm like, yeah, okay, he looked good. He looked fine. Like, you can get away with this. And then if this is your last receiver, you can get away with this. [00:22:58] Speaker B: Sure. [00:22:58] Speaker A: And then I'm watching the tape back, and I'm really, you know, trying to focus in on the offensive line because that's the hard thing to do during the game. And you see cowing on these insert. Well, it's not insert, but, you know, Watkins. I mean, Watkins. You see walk because, you know, cowing, can't block. You see Watkins on these tight alignments. And I mean, he's not. He's not just getting blown up. He's just straight up missing people. He's kind of Debo Putt returning his way towards the safety. And it's like, dude, this tape is going to be damning. I texted somebody who, you know, might know something or two, and I'm like, whoa, is this Watkins blocking? Like, par for the course? And all I got was the thumbs up. Like, yeah, it is. And if you're wondering why I'm not sure he makes this team, that's the reason. [00:23:47] Speaker B: And then there was no chance in which he's catching that deep ball. Right. You're like, oh, he actually has a chance to catch it. [00:23:53] Speaker A: Office just. [00:23:55] Speaker B: Yeah, there's just like, you got to make difficult catches. Right. And, yeah, he never will. [00:24:01] Speaker A: And then people will be like, oh, he had a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Yeah, great. They. They ran a. A seam post concept against cover two where everyone kept backing up. Like, that's a scheme thing. If Adrian Martinez can make the throw, it's a scheme thing. Like, it was not impressive. You put any receiver in there, the same thing gets done. It's cover four. Everyone's backing up. You have Richie coming up the seam. He's going to pull the safety down. You got the corner hanging out, you know? [00:24:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:27] Speaker A: Try to hit. All you have to do is go like this. All you have to do is hit it. It's a one read throw. I know Jimmy Garoppolo offense when I see one right there. At least he caught it. I mean. [00:24:38] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:38] Speaker A: I don't get it. I don't get it. [00:24:39] Speaker B: Yeah, there are two more players. Gonna be brutal. [00:24:44] Speaker A: Watkins. Yeah, I guess. [00:24:46] Speaker B: Kurt, I'm with you. [00:24:47] Speaker A: Keeps getting himself more job security by not playing. [00:24:50] Speaker B: Yes. [00:24:52] Speaker A: Okay. Hit me with somebody else. [00:24:53] Speaker B: Two or three more Players I want to talk about before I got a dip. [00:24:56] Speaker A: He's got a dip. [00:24:57] Speaker B: James Thompson told you got to keep him on the roster. It's not that I didn't believe you. [00:25:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:03] Speaker B: But I was sort of hesitant just in terms of, like, do they lean ease. Thompson has to be on the team. And there's a world where, like, Alfred Collins goes on IR for the first four weeks with a mystery injury. I guess I don't think that's how they do it, but it's. And he had one really good rep. [00:25:22] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm sure he did. I didn't notice him today. [00:25:26] Speaker B: I saw one really good rep where he got through in the past game. It's just like, I don't think he knows what he is supposed to be. And I. I don't think he knows where he fits in. He's like, am I. I can 2 Gap if you want me to 2 Gab. Do I. Do you? But you want me to be aggressive. And he's like. So then he's aggressive, but then he gets washed out. [00:25:45] Speaker A: He doesn't have the upper body strength to be aggressive. [00:25:47] Speaker B: Right. Because his pad level is inconsistent. Yeah. And it's a lot of. Yeah, it's a lot of the stuff that concerned me in college where I wasn't all the way in. And I just don't know, like, what he does well at this point to outweigh the risks of him getting washed out in the run game. [00:26:06] Speaker A: And to be fair, Thompson did get duo blocked into oblivion once in this game. Then every other snap, he was just in there making things happen. And it's. He's just moved up the depth chart from the very bottom to now. It's almost inarguable. I mean, now we don't see C.J. west. I don't know what that was about. And they held out more defenders than, you know, they still held out some players, but, like, if CJ's one, I guess they'd run Collins, too. But I would play Thompson. I really would. [00:26:38] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:26:39] Speaker A: I mean, I'm not even sure that he isn't. I'm not sure that Thompson isn't better than west as it stands. I disagree. It might just be. [00:26:48] Speaker B: I disagree. But, yeah, I mean, there's a level of size that he brings. Yeah. That's taking some people off guard. Again, not against starters anyway. Yeah. It's hard to deny at this point that he's just. He's just been really solid. One guy who is. I can't. I didn't give him a Stock up. I didn't give him a stock down. Jaden Duggar. [00:27:09] Speaker A: I gave him, I gave him a thumbs down. [00:27:11] Speaker B: Understandably because he's making spectacular plays, largely because he's out of position, but he's so athletic and long that it looks really cool. Yeah, it's kind of the J.R. smith thing where J.R. smith would make like a six shot and you're like, you had a wide open jumper and he's like, no, it needs to be contested. Need to make or I can't make it. [00:27:32] Speaker A: I, I, I, and I, I say this with affection. Like, he is swimming in it right now. It is all way too fast for him. You can see the indecision oozing out of every pore of his body. He ran into Jacob Robinson, who had a nice game today. Just ran into him straight. Just, oh, don't know where I'm supposed to be. They want him to be the tight end matchup guy. Totally understandable take in that he can run with a Ronda Gadsden, who's barely a tight end to begin with. And like, yeah. Was it good looking? [00:28:08] Speaker B: No. [00:28:09] Speaker A: But he was running stride for stride. And when you see him run, you're like, oh, yeah, that guy. Yeah, that guy probably can play some football. But there's this. [00:28:19] Speaker B: They should just show, they should just show him tape of Derwin James. Be like, you should be a safety at this point. I don't know what he is. I don't know. [00:28:29] Speaker A: They don't know what he is. [00:28:30] Speaker B: They don't know. But he does fun because he's so long and so athletic and it's really inconsistent and you can't trust any part of it. [00:28:39] Speaker A: No. [00:28:39] Speaker B: Like you said, like, make him a special teams demon. [00:28:42] Speaker A: Yep. [00:28:43] Speaker B: Figure out the rest later. If that's all he ever is. Like, they'll probably take that because of the size. [00:28:49] Speaker A: They're probably okay, too, because Garrett Wallow and Tatum Bethune are solid backups. Like, they really clearly either Raheem hates Garrett Wallow or loves Garrett Wallow. It's very difficult to tell right now. I would go with likes him and there's a, there's still some stain on his game, but he makes sure mixed plays. And as a backup weak side, you can play with that. Tatum Bethune is a backup mic. You can play with that. The Sam linebacker thing, it, you know, Gifford is probably going to make this team now. I, yeah. Nick Martins might save them from having to have a tough conversation with his little hamstring injury that he had today. [00:29:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Great. [00:29:31] Speaker A: When he doesn't get touched. [00:29:32] Speaker B: But it's, it's, you know, it's really almost every single time you'll see him in the backfield, flash, he'll never make a tackle. [00:29:41] Speaker A: Not once in the backfield. [00:29:43] Speaker B: Never once. You'll see him fly by and you're like, okay, he affected the run a little bit. Never finishes it in the backfield when it's something to the flat and there's no one in front of him. It's the same exact thing we said since we watched tape day one. Nothing has changed. [00:29:58] Speaker A: Yep. [00:29:59] Speaker B: Can run fast in a straight line and go attack. [00:30:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:30:03] Speaker B: But it's like, it's like as if you were to send a little. Like a little cousin who watched Trey Greenlaw tape and he's like, I can go do it too. Really? [00:30:11] Speaker A: It's like a fundamental misunderstanding of what makes Aziz Al Shayer good. Like Aiz Al Shayer runs through a dude in the process of running into you. Like Aiz Al Shayer gets off block. Like, he's not great at it, but he gets off blocks and he stays in the play. [00:30:27] Speaker B: Yeah. He also just plays with the level of like, I'm going to sacrifice every [00:30:31] Speaker A: muscle fiber, like my body problematic level of intelligence, intensity. [00:30:35] Speaker B: Yeah. I love, I love you can get [00:30:38] Speaker A: away with that if you, if you are also crazy strong in your upper body, have really good hands. You are always a step ahead, everybody, because you play at a very fast level mentally. And that was not always the case with the Z's, but it became the case like after a year. It was like, oh, in the same way. Tatum Bethune, he didn't look like he could play in the NFL after you comes back year two and you're like, oh, he might be able to play. And then he did, and he played fine. I haven't seen any. I haven't seen any improvement from Nick Martin. It's the same thing. And with Duggar, it's like, well, at least with that frame, I want to give him more of a shot. At least I can do something with him on special teams. I know Martin had a nice special teams tackle today, you know, so didn't Seer McCormick like, in the same role? Like, yeah, one of them can give you something from scrimmage. So their linebacker situation is pretty deep. I just question how much. How many guys they're going to carry based on pride? Because they'll carry Duggar. Will they also carry Martin? They might have been bail. [00:31:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:31:36] Speaker A: From that straight. Do you want to hit on before [00:31:38] Speaker B: you last guy Ephesians Priceock. [00:31:41] Speaker A: Oh, yeah? What'd you see? [00:31:43] Speaker B: I don't know if he's good at playing corner, but man, is he. He's. He's a string. Being a long limbed dude who just gets in passing lanes in, man. And I don't know what that's going to be, but I just, I am entertained by how strangely long his limbs are and the fact that he is consistently like breaking up passes. Again. I don't necessarily know that I'm impressed on the whole with how his game is, but there's like something intriguing about what his upside is. And I wasn't that high on him. [00:32:20] Speaker A: Right. You know, but he's a specific kind of player. [00:32:23] Speaker B: I did like how in college how he would use his length and strength and say, I'm gonna drive you into the sidelines and I'm gonna press the out of you. And they're gonna have to call up. They're gonna have to flag me because I am gonna commit dpi. [00:32:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:37] Speaker B: And you're just gonna have to call [00:32:38] Speaker A: it the old Jack Jones of it [00:32:39] Speaker B: all, which is like, honestly, he should have been drafted by the Chiefs. [00:32:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:43] Speaker B: Because that would also be loved him. What do you menace? So anyway, he intrigues me. I don't know what's going on there, but I'm not. He, he has done more good than bad to intrigue me going forward. [00:32:58] Speaker A: And he'll be a gunner, you know, where Daryl Luter just is the same that he ever was. It's, it's, it's an easy replacement. [00:33:06] Speaker B: I think they cut Looter. [00:33:07] Speaker A: I think it's a real possibility. I haven't given it much thought one way or another, to be honest. [00:33:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:33:12] Speaker A: I mean, you might have to keep Robinson because if you keep, I mean, [00:33:17] Speaker B: if you keep, like if you, if you keep Renardo Green, if you keep Ephesians, Pry, Sock, Lenore, Jack Jones, that's four right there. Then you have Nickel, Upton, Stout, and then Hobbs. If he's healthy, I mean, they've guaranteed him a decent amount. [00:33:37] Speaker A: No, I mean Hobbs is on the roster. It's just a question of if he's on the active roster or if they, if they get him on iron for [00:33:46] Speaker B: a day or two and then maybe Saran Neal, wherever that he fits in. I guess the safety, I don't know. Yeah, his position is. [00:33:53] Speaker A: I think he might be the fourth safety with Ashton Davis being a practice squad guy they call up in a pitch. Ashton Davis did not have a good day. Yeah, I want to get your. I want to get your thoughts real fast on, on the left guard situation. I. [00:34:11] Speaker B: That's it. That's my, those are my thoughts. [00:34:14] Speaker A: Okay, well, we'll let you go and I'll, I'll expand further. [00:34:17] Speaker B: No, no, no, go. I mean, give me, give me. [00:34:20] Speaker A: I have, I have spent a lot of these one on ones and they don't do one on ones every day because they're so damn injured, but I spent a lot of these one on ones next to Nick Wagner of espn. And we have been just having the back and forth of like, who the hell is going to be the left guard on this team? And it's something that Nick and I just, in our conversations have been on for like three weeks now. I think I started bringing it up a little bit more earnestly about 10 days ago and when they just decided that Connor Colby like, nah, get in the back of the line again, buddy. As soon as the pads got on and then Bob Jones is out there and it wasn't going great. And then they play against Tennessee in that joint practice and Bob looks okay and, and then, you know, I get into the preseason game and he doesn't look okay. And they're like, I don't know, Carver, Willis, you want to play some left guard? And he's like, yeah, sure, boss, I'll get in there. And then that. It looks like someone who's never played left guard in their life. And then we've been watching these one on ones and you watch him and he's going up against pretty good guys and you go like, I don't know, maybe Austin Pleasants with that big. [00:35:21] Speaker B: I was going to say. That's what I was going to say. I was honestly, I was going to say it should be Austin Pleasance. [00:35:26] Speaker A: And I, I think today was the case in point as to why it should be him. Even though he did absolutely botch protection [00:35:34] Speaker B: just because he's rotund, he's robust. [00:35:37] Speaker A: Well, I thought he looked unbelievable in the run game. Like they showing all these, you know, it's hard obviously in the moment it's a massive humanity from the sideline. But then they show you, you know, the sky cam or whatever and you see and it's like Pleasant's like getting in on the double team, getting to the second level and you're like, hell yeah. That he can scoot and he can really deliver a blow from, from, from, from guard. And yeah, no, he obviously pass pro is going to be a challenge if you've never played a position before and not knowing how to play the Position shows up when Adrian throws a pick six right. [00:36:10] Speaker B: And then his knee. So Shanahan said it's not his acl. [00:36:14] Speaker A: Oh, that's great. Another PCL for the boys. [00:36:18] Speaker B: There's never a good sign. It's never good when it's like. It's not the acl. It is an initial sign of, like, just how severe it is. We'll see. We'll see. But, yeah, I would have. I would actually say it should be Austin Pleasants, which is a very, very sad statement. [00:36:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:36] Speaker B: Given what they've tried to do there. Again, a position that we said last year, we're like, hey, maybe prioritize this. And they said, shut up. We're so much smarter than you, Jake. [00:36:47] Speaker A: That's not how we do. [00:36:49] Speaker B: We're brilliant. We moneyball it. [00:36:51] Speaker A: And. [00:36:51] Speaker B: Sure. Does that mean we might be screwed? [00:36:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:36:55] Speaker B: Yeah. But we have. We have Chris Firster who will coach everyone to be just good enough to survive. And I. I kind of. I kind of respect that. [00:37:06] Speaker A: At least it's an ethos, dude. All right, go enjoy the rest of your vacation. You'll be back next. [00:37:11] Speaker B: Appreciate you. Gonna go see some whales. [00:37:13] Speaker A: Awesome. It's nighttime there, so. [00:37:15] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. In the next day or two. [00:37:17] Speaker A: Okay, Bounce out and we'll finish up the stream here. Okay. Welcome to my messy studio. Here's who else I think we got to talk about Digizua. First series. Just Chef's kiss. Fantastic. This is the three Tech they've been looking for since, like, Armstead, and he even has more juice. I mean, they threw money at Hargrave. They, you know, drafted Kinlaw. They thought that they. They had. They. They had this idea for what they should be getting from that position. And I think that they have it now, you know, Digizua. And I don't think that that comes as a shock to anybody. If you watch the Diggy Zooa's tape with the Cowboys, and obviously the Cowboys changed their scheme and went to a three man front and have Quinton Williams and Kenny Clark now. So what the hell do you need a gap shooting 3tech for? But this is. He's going to be a menace. He might lead the team in sacks this year. He's going to be an absolute menace. He was a menace. Today. We talked about Thompson. I thought Wallow looked really good today. Obviously not perfect. There were a couple plays where he got caught, but he made a lot of plays both in between the hash marks and outside the hash marks. The. The Duggar thing. I gotta lean in on the Duggar thing a little bit more. I don't think that it is a bad experiment. I think it is a worthy experiment. I think that it is almost unfair in some ways that they have to do things this way because he just needs a ton of reps and he is going to have to learn every lesson that needs to be taught the hard way through a ton of practice reps and now these game reps where he doesn't stand a chance. He didn't stand a chance coming in and he definitely doesn't stand a chance now and he is just going to have to learn with Trial by Fire. If the Niners need Jaden Duggar to be something for them this year, they are cooked. It's a real issue if they can play the long term game, build him up, obviously he'll make the roster, turn him into something special teams guy, whatever. Maybe there is something for him down the line. He's a lot more intriguing to me than Martin ever was. But this is when he was at ULL University of Louisiana Lafayette for the uninitiated, for those sun built knowers or non knowers out there. When he was there his first year he was on the field there. He was a defensive end. He was not a particularly good defensive end. He had a little bit of like a shadow move thing, but if you got hands on him, it was over. He was just too light and his speed was something, but even at the sun belt level it wasn't good enough. So you had that. And then the next year they say, okay, you're our Mike linebacker. Which is a really kind of quirky and fun and cool way of going about having someone with crazy long arms like he's a Herb, Herb Jones three and D small forward. That was his true calling. To be just somebody who, who is a, you know, on the point of the on the ball defender, hangs out in the corner, knocks down some threes. So they put him at Mike. They blitz him a lot. He's in coverage a lot and he does make some highlight plays which clearly K.J. wright saw. But then when you watch the ULL tape and I the amount of people that have come back on me about like, oh, did you see what he did against Missouri? But did I ever see what he did against Missouri? Because I I've watched every Missouri game for 16 years now and I watch them back because again, I'm mentally unwell and I get all 22 from a friend. Like I'm unwell. And in that you, when you actually watch with intent and you watch the Lowlights, if you will. There's a lot more lowlights than there are highlights. That was against SEC level competition. He doesn't have the players around him. It is just, it is a total 100% project in the same way that Isaac Arendo was a total 100% project. I'm not saying it's going to go the same way as that, but you are just buying on athleticism. And I would just hope, and I don't actually have an indication one way or another right now, I would hope that their plan is get them in [00:41:39] Speaker B: there, [00:41:41] Speaker A: sink or swim, you know, toss the baby into the water and see if they can paddle all that stuff. We're just going to rep them, rep him, rep them as much as we possibly can this first year so that he gets his sea legs under him and then we're going to put him on ice, have him be a special teamer, maybe not even be up for most games. And then next year we can do something with that at Sam linebacker. That's. That is a sound plan to me. But if that is not in fact the plan, and again, I have not been told that that is the plan. It's just a possibility. And if the plan is in fact, oh, we're going to use them in like really fun and quirky ways, they're going to get burned doing that. I'm not saying that Luke Gifford's a better option. I'm just saying this isn't a good option. Speaking of, you know, projects that they're just hoping win through athleticism. Y' all see what I'm talking about with Enrique Cruz? It's brutal. It's brutal. And for a team that has so many questions and is running through four different dudes at left guard, none of which have taken the gig, though it probably will just be Carver Willis's by default at some point. But just rotating through, dudes have some questions about swing tackle, especially now with Pleasants out. You know, backup center is a question mark. How are they going to handle that? I don't know what Brett Toth is or what he does or if he can do it. For all the questions that this team, they cannot roster him. They can't roster Enrique Cruz. It's a fifth round draft pick and they're going to have to cut him because there's no way that you can waste a roster spot. Particularly if we're viewing the roster through the lens of you get this many spots more or less, give or take one at each position. Like who are you cutting from your Roster so that you can keep Enrique Cruz around so that Chris Firster feels good. And that's all it is because this was first pick 100%. He, you know, banged the table for him left, right and center. This was a bit player at Kansas. He started games. You look at the thing, he starts games, doesn't get to the third series, doesn't play the fourth series. Oh, well, he's back in for the fifth. Oh, he's back out for the sixth. He was a rotation player at Syracuse, transfers to Kansas on spec and they can't even get him to be an every down player. I'm not saying that he needs to be an every down player for the 49ers. Clearly not. I would never play him. And maybe down the line he can be playable, but that feels very far away, seeing where his pad level is right now and how every time it's pass pro, he is just on skates directly into the quarterback's lap. But if he, if he's on your roster and shit goes sideways, well, now he has to play and he can't play. Isaac Allercon, who does not count against their roster, has a case that he's a better tackle than him right now. And Isaac Allercon, lovely guy, not a good football player. Isaac Allercon is on this team and I wish I was being fatuous about this. He's on this team because he doesn't count and he can really, he really kills on community outreach days. He really kills when they send his ass down to Mexico City a week or so before to do, you know, Niners in the community. Great guy. That's why he's around. He's not around because they think he can turn into Jordan Mayata. You know, he's not around to, to game the system with the roster. He's around because he's a great hang, because he speaks Spanish and because that's an important part of what the Niners are trying to do on the business side and it doesn't hurt them at all on their football team. He's a better tackle than Enrique Cruz right now and that probably won't always be the case, but I can't guarantee that's not going to be the case. And so if they're going to keep him on this roster, someone's going to have to go. They're going to have to make a tough roster decision somewhere else. On a roster that frankly doesn't have a lot of wiggle room to get cute. Maybe they cordless. Weightman. Weightman. You Know, maybe. Maybe they. They do the Thomas Morstead thing and just say, hang out at the Hilton for a couple days and we'll give you 100 grand for your trouble. Get as much room service as you want, and we'll give you 100 grand for all of it. But goodness gracious, I mean, that was a swing and a miss. And to be fair to the Niners on this, pretty much every pick after stribling was just a guess, you know, like, this is a terrible draft. So I don't want to be too harsh on, like, oh, it was a fifth round pick. Yeah, well, fifth round pick, seventh round pick, third round pick. They're all more or less the same in this draft, but mercy me, it's brutal. I mean, very rarely do you see somebody who was drafted in the NFL come in and look so overmatched so consistently. I also want to mention Luke Farrell. Luke Farrell has had an okay training camp. It's been some drops and stuff. He is, you know, they're using him as a. As a move tight end. That is probably where he needs to be. That's the initial conceit of why they got him. Except now you have Jake Tonjas, and Jake Tonjas isn't really a true white tight end. And so, okay, now you got this. You got this move tight end that now he's actually stronger and arguably a better blocker. Though arguable with Jake Tonjas is not a place you want to be in conversation. And so now you have these two move tight ends. You don't have your number one tight end. You don't have anybody on the roster outside of maybe Richie who can actually block in line. And for Feral to have a drop at a false start on the opening drive. Inauspicious. Inauspicious. It's funny, you know, I get on the Niners a lot for maybe being a little bit too reactionary, you know, and being a bit too loyal to the systems and all that. When Kyle went out and John went out and got Luke Farrell, it was actually a year ahead. You know, I guess it was a year behind Sean McVay, but Sean McVeigh was two years ahead. So Kyle and John, they're like, we're gonna need to do the move tight end thing and get ahead of this so that we can do some more 22 personnel so that we can do some more 12 personnel stuff. And now Juice is sort of taken on that role because clearly they didn't have anybody last year, but in that they got a year ahead and then this past year, and we saw Charlie Kohler on the field today for the Chargers. I mean, a lot of money and a lot of draft capital went into blocking tight ends. Right. And move tight ends. So the Niners were ahead of the curve. They just got the wrong guy. There's about a dozen, maybe 20 players that I would rather have fulfilling that role than Luke Farrell as it stands right now. All right, this is Viz Rogue. Let's just get into the questions because y' all don't want to hear me ramble anymore. Vedarian Low, capable of being a guard when he comes back. If we're desperate to answer your question specifically, yes, at least in my estimation, we will see if that's something that they can even entertain given Pleasance is injury. If pleasance is out for any stretch of time, they do not have somebody who can back up even to a reasonable capacity. Trent Williams or Colton McKivitz. You cannot play Brandon Parker in an NFL game. You can't do it. So Federian Lowe goes from being a very important part of this team at the beginning of training camp, getting injured, never really losing that status, to now being even somehow more important because the option behind him, the fourth option at tackle, is probably your best option at left guard, but he's also injured. So Federian Low, I would not be experimenting too much with him just merely because you cannot lose him too. That's. That's kind of where it stands. Enrique Cruz FULLBACK I do maintain that there's something. And now this will never happen because you would have to have him on the roster and he'd have to be up for the game. But. And if he's on the roster, that's a failure. So having him up for the game is an even bigger failure. But Cruz's athletic ability as a straight line runner and stuff made him an interesting option as a fifth or, I'm sorry, as a sixth offensive lineman. Like, you could kind of see a world in which that worked. That's not the way Kyle goes about things. And it's. You can't run max protect with them. Like, the whole point of the six offensive lineman is, yeah, you usually want to run the ball, but sometimes you got to keep the defense and you got to pass it. Out of six offensive linemen, so that one, that guy goes out on a route after he. He does a chip block or two, he just stays in and protects. And you have, yeah, sure, probably one, two, few guys out there running a route, but damned if you don't have a clean pocket. You Wouldn't have a clean pocket if Enrique Cruz was out there as a six offensive lineman. I am fascinated, absolutely fascinated to see the gymnastics that they start going to, to try to get this guy on the team so that Firster doesn't have to admit that he was wrong about him. And you know what? Again, it's the fifth round of a draft that sucked. I'm, I'm certain. And it's easy to say in retrospect. Of course, there was, you know, 50 players that I would have taken above him. James Thompson should have been selected there. All these things. It is what it is now. And just like with Thompson to the positive, he's an undrafted free agent, had a great shrine, Bull was very good at Illinois, gets to the NFL level, and you're like, yeah, this guy can play. This guy's got to stick around. This guy can help us win football games in the regular season this year. He's someone we want to have on our squad. Okay, that's a win. That's a win because you were able to recruit him in. Nobody drafted him, including yourself. You were able to recruit him in. That's a huge win. The counter to that is you missed. You missed blatantly in a reverse James Thompson way. You miss blatantly on your fifth round draft pick. If you just admit it and move on, so be it. I can explain it away. You write it off on your taxes. You know, you just get, you get on with it. If you keep it around and hope things get better, now you're just wasting a roster spot. Now you get to play with 52 when everyone else plays with 53. And that is the hallmark of bad teams. That is how teams deteriorate. Even if you do have a higher floor than you used to, you cannot waste roster spots in the same way that the Giants can't just leave a 40 spot open as they have done so many times this season. That's what a GM with no experience would do. John lynch is too smart to do that. But pride and politics and all this good stuff, not sure what the hell they're going to do. It is. It's going to be interesting. It's going to be interesting to say the least. Let's get some more. Get to some more questions. Cowachepto this was pertaining to CJ West. He's practiced quite a bit recently. I mean, he's sometimes in, sometimes out, but when he, he practices, you see him, you see him, he makes plays. It seems like Raheem really, really likes him. We really like him too. We're just in a put up or shut up mode now, right? This is not some guy with this incredible talent pedigree. And now you're at a point where somebody who could have been like a cool kind of hipster player is, is now fundamental to what it is you want to do. And, and I'm not sure he's that good. I'm not sure he's that good. I think he's absolutely good enough to be the one tech that you bring in. He makes some stuff happen. Everyone feels like he was in a sweet spot of expectations versus reality. And now because other players around him have failed, the expectations have been bumped up. And again, I'm not sure the reality is going to be commensurate, but I hope I'm wrong about that. And I do think that he, you know, he's a smart, tough football player. He won't lose you games. And when we get to, when we get to week one, that, that's more the question than can he win you a game? Which again, not exactly a great hallmark for, for this team heading into the season, but not a, not a situation that's totally unique to the Niners. Brad Jones. Robert Jones suffered an undisclosed injury and most likely will miss the Raiders game. Match. Brad's down in Australia. So it's a match according to Kyle. See you later. Like, yeah, it's John better be on the phone. They. They got, they got to bring in, they got to bring in somebody. I mean, Will Hernandez is one. Kevin Zeitler keep up in the money until he decides that he wants to play football again. I'm sure there's a dozen more players that are available today that there's a conversation that can be had about. Those are the two that come to mind immediately. You know, it's been suggested in the comments section here and I appreciate the suggestion. Like, are they waiting. I think we asked, answered this in the Tuesday stream. Are they waiting for somebody to get cut from somewhere else so they can pick them up? I mean, at this point, yeah, I don't think it's a good plan. I don't think that that's going to work out well for them. Oh, you know, a position, offensive lineman. If you're getting cut, it ain't because you got too many good ones. No team has that issue. Even the best offensive line teams don't have the issue if we have too many good offensive linemen. And the Niners, who, you know, feel like they can get the bare minimum, you know, passable level play out of anyone who could turn Austin Pleasance into somebody that we talk about on a stream like this. Even the Niners don't have that many good ones. When they're cutting guys, it's because, well, you know, pride and politics and draft capital and all that stuff. Like, those are the conversations. Not because, oh, we have too many good ones. Which. Which of the ten good ones will we keep? No, it's like we have five good ones, three okay ones, and everybody else it's like, well, what projects do we want to keep working on and who can we reasonably pass off? Is. Is a good idea. So if other teams are cutting offensive linemen and you're thinking, oh, well, that will be our starting left guard buddy, you've already lost. I think that they are just going to at this point. And I will have a better opinion on this tomorrow once I get the all 22. But I. I've been of the mindset that it's Carver Willis's job in due time. Due time might be tomorrow. And it's again, nothing that Willis has done to. To take the job and run with it. It's just been everybody else eliminating themselves from the competition, except for Pleasance, who I thought looked really good and then got injured. So there's that Mike coming in. Watching Kalon Black play tonight was like watching him at Indiana. He hits the hole hard and fast and then never stops driving his legs, which makes him very hard to tackle and fun to watch. He is fun to watch. He's like an aesthetically pleasing player. He's like, he's fundamentally football. I know that that sounds almost like a tautology, like, of course he's fundamentally football, he plays professional football. But like, there is something to certain players and the energy that they bring. Drake Greenlaw is like this. Fred Warner is like this. There are certain guys that just have a quintessential foot footballness to them, where they seek contact, they look to inflict pain. It is the thing that we don't talk about at parties, right? We never want to admit that that's why we actually really like football. Because you could watch flag football, you're getting like all the football and none of the really dirty, gritty good stuff. Again, you know, the stuff that, you know, maybe we have to put on the private browser tabs to really search for this guy plays that style. It's a style that's necessary in the NFL at the running back position, because you can either be immensely talented or you can be immensely tough. Some guys are both pretty rare. Obviously, they're all extremely tough by the standards of a mortal man. But this guy has. Jake is the perfect term. He has the juice. He has the juice and they really needed that because I'll tell you what, Brian Robinson, 0.0% juice last year. I hated watching Brian Robinson play. First off, he's a running back who only gets what the offensive line blocks for him. Those are my least favorite kind of running backs. He's a running back with a big body and a long stride that never seemed to be able to use those things to his advantage. I like a running back that just feels like every carry is an existential threat to him and his family. And he's going to do everything in his power to get those three yards. Is it the smartest way to play football long term? Hell no. But it might be the only way to play football if you're actually doing it right. And Kalon Black, it's been obvious he had this at Indiana. It's why everyone getting up in arms about the draft pick. Then you watch the tape and you go, yeah, yeah. You might have been able to wait, but the pick made sense. Agnostic from the number that's attached to his name, which is now, I think at a point where we just have to view it in that realm. And if any fan base should understand that the number don't mean a damn thing, it's the 49ers, right? In the same way we were just talking about Thompson versus Cruz. Okay, well, what's the most clear cut example of it doesn't matter once they get out there on Sundays. Purdy versus Lance, who cares? I mean, it sucks for the Niners that they traded away three first round picks in effect for Trey Lance, but then they got Brock Purdy for effectively free. So all's, All's well that ends well. Kaylon Black going at 99, I believe. [00:59:55] Speaker B: Overall. [00:59:56] Speaker A: Oh, well, you know, we had a more in the 125, 130 range. Well, if your team really needs somebody like Kalon Black and this team really needed somebody like Kalon Black, you don't dick around with it. You just take the guys that you like and that is, you know, as much as, you know, Jake and I spend a tremendous amount of time on this. We don't get them all right? We don't get them all wrong. All this, it's all subject to opinion. We try to have a strong understanding of what it is the Niners are looking for. What it is would work for them. Where it is they're going. And what, how these players would fit into it. We try to see the bright side of things. We bring up the negative things a lot because the negative things usually outweigh the bright side of things, especially for draft picks. But with Black, it's like you could have gotten cute with it in the same way that they could have gotten cute maybe one more time and traded down one more time with Stribling. But I'll tell you what, I've said this before on the stream. I'm not telling the tale outside of school. If the Niners didn't take Stribling when they did, the Rams weren't going to wait long to go get them. The Rams, in fact, made a call for pick 33. Now, that was immediately rebuffed, of course, but had the Niners gotten queued and they traded down twice prior? Had the Niners gotten cute and said, like, we'll go down to 35, go down to 36? I mean, honestly, it was a bad play by the Rams. They gave away their hand because whomever the niners wanted at 33, clearly the Rams had somebody in mind, too. And it doesn't take too much to figure out because if I'm hearing it, I would hope that the Niners are hearing it too. Maybe they're hearing it through the proxy that I heard it through, that the Rams loved him so much they were being a little bit cute with it, that, well, they made a call. And so if the Niners are like, oh, we heard they like stribling, we like stribling. Don't dick around with it. Who gives a damn about the differentiation of eight picks or five picks? Did you get the player? Yeah, you won. Same thing with Black. Could you probably have waited 27, 35 more picks? Maybe. Or maybe not. Did you get the player you won, Brock Purdy? Could you have drafted him earlier? [01:02:07] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:02:09] Speaker A: Does it really matter if he was drafted in the fourth round or the seventh round? Yeah, I guess a little bit on the salary cap, but not really. You got the player, you won, and sometimes you need to get lucky. And this is all in an exact science, as evidenced by just the chaos of some of these draft picks. But in this one, it really does feel like they won. With K Lon Black, I do not know if he's here for a long time, but I do know he's here for a good time. A very, again, aesthetically pleasing football player. Somebody who is. It's almost comforting. I think I acknowledged this earlier. It's like comforting to watch him play and. And that you just go, oh, that's what, that's what a real football player looks like. And it's again, not to denigrate anybody who's above him on the depth chart or anything, is not a real football player. It's just that he is so upfront with it all in how he plays. It is so balls to the wall all the time. It's again, it's comforting because it kind of normalizes the thing that we all have in the back of our heads about why we love football. It's a great thing by Benali here. Garendo had a great kick return in the preseason his rookie year, so maybe Cowgs punt return should have a few grains of salt. Agreed. Agreed. You have to take the whole of the body of work. But if you are treating five wide receivers as wide receivers and then one as a special teamer, cowing being able to return one to the house does say something, right? Isaac Rando was never on the roster bubble his rookie year and when it went, he probably would still be the kick returner if his health was, you know, in some sort of a capacity to let him play football. Now maybe at this point, not so much, but at least his first two years. I don't know. I would not say that Cowing is a roster lock. I think that that will be the main talking point coming out of this. He has to do it again against the Raiders. Watkins has another chance to not lose his job against the Raiders. I don't know when Christian Kirk comes back, how Christian Kirk comes back, what Christian Kirk looks like when he comes back. I do know that the Niners are not keen to cut him. Right. They gave him some money. He has a pedigree. They signed him on purpose. You know, it's not like somebody that they they got as an undrafted is a guy off the street at the beginning of camp. He was a priority in free agency this past spring. They don't want to cut him, especially when he's done nothing wrong other than get injured. So they don't want to cut him. It's on the other guys to force their hand. I don't think Cowling has done enough to force the Niners hand, but I know that Jordan Watkins hasn't done enough to force their hand. I would add in the Malik Turner, I would add in Kadero Hodge. The special teams aspect of this is important and in this case, if it comes down to cowing or Watkins, they're going to go with cowing because he has the special teams advantage and because Watkins has underwhelmed. I can tell you sometimes you can read between the lines here. And this is not my source. You can read between the lines in sometimes how the position coaches talk about guys if you're just looking for tiebreakers. And when I brought up Jordan Watkins to Leonard Hankerson, he didn't really say that much and he definitely didn't seem too excited to talk about him. But you talk about Will Pauling with Leonard Hankerson. Oh, my God. Prodigal son returns. This is, this is our guy. It wouldn't shock it. Watkins has a lot of Dante Pettis in him right now. Except Dante Pettis had more special teams options there. What else do we. I mean this is, this is an interesting take by Andrew. This team is going to run people the over. Holy Lord. They ran the Chargers over today. They should run the Raiders over Tennessee game. I don't know if they ran dudes over. Maybe it's just a K on black thing. I did think Sincere McCormick had a really nice day. Sincere McCormick is on this team as it stands. I'm curious, I'm curious, I'm curious as to what they do for this next week because they're going to treat this week like a build up. They're going to treat this week like a regular game week and Brock's going to go further and then Mac's going to come in after him and then the game will be over when Adrian Martinez comes in. By the way, Adrian Martinez, you're not doing it for me, Bubs. You're. You're not making anybody think twice about cutting you. Seems like a lovely guy, but [01:06:49] Speaker B: what do we. [01:06:50] Speaker A: Let's not pretend. So they're going to treat this like the true dress rehearsal, at least to my knowledge. I don't think that means that Trent plays. We'll find out. I don't think it means Fred or Dre plays. We'll find out. Maybe they're in their first series. I don't know. They'll probably err on the side of caution. But I do know that they're going to do the three hard days of practice, walk through, you know, kind of the tip. They're going to turn this into a typical game week as to be the dress rehearsal not just in the game itself for a quarter or a half or whatever, but just in the, the, the, the build up to it because they don't have that going into week one. They have a very weird situation going into week one. So they're going to try to do that now. And in that I would hope that against the Raiders, for whatever that's worth. I don't know what the Raiders are going to do and how they're going to treat it. In the same way that the Niners treated the first game. Very differently than the Titans. Worked out way better for the Niners, but very differently than the Titans. I would hope that this is the same attitude that Andrew is espousing here, that that shows up in. In Las Vegas. That would be. That would be awesome. Keeping the faith. The strip club is open. [01:08:02] Speaker B: Yep. [01:08:04] Speaker A: Yep. [01:08:04] Speaker B: It is. [01:08:05] Speaker A: It is. Okay, we'll get to a couple more here. And here we go. Yeah. Giannis, should they invest some money and get Zeitler out of retirement? Yeah, yeah. They should take whatever pile of money they got and throw it at the problem. I'm not sure it will solve it, but it gives them another body to figure out if it can make any difference. And I'm very curious to see what kind of names pop up over the next 36 hours because they got to get on it. When they signed to Kelj again [01:08:43] Speaker B: earlier [01:08:44] Speaker A: this week, I thought that would have been the best opportunity to bring in the veteran. They didn't do that. I think they regret it now. Clearly the plan was, oh, we're going to give Pleasant some reps in 11 on 11 at left guard during this game. A good idea. Probably not the best idea to give the guy the first 11 on 11 reps at a position in an NFL game, even a preseason one. You saw the end result of that. He does. Pleasance does not have the opportunity to play left guard in an 11 on 11 situation to practice unless they wanted to have him as the starting left guard in practice. And again, this is all now probably out the window because of the knee injury. Cruz's first step, they spotlighted him on K picks was hilarious and sad at the same time. Yeah, they. So they come back from a commercial break and they're, you know, they do the, the PowerPoint slide of like, here's Enrique Cruz, honorable mention, Big 12 last year got mentioned once by the Kansas writer. So they do it and then the first rep, I mean, he is just right in Adrian Martinez's lap against a fifth stringer from the Chargers. It was. It was brutal. Could they IR work again just for the roster space? Probably. Probably. I'm not sure one game of Rourke was enough to get him a roster spot somewhere else. I don't think the Niners want to carry three. I think that they want to have Rourke on their practice squad and be able to call them up in a pinch. That said, it only takes one to pick up the contract, so I'd be shocked if we see Roark again. I think that they're going to do some. Some roster chicanery to get him, and this is tricky now. So they could do the thing where they use one of the two IR spots from training camp on Rourke, and then probably it wouldn't be a designate to return situation, so then he'd be out for the season. That's not going to help you any. They could cut somebody, carry him through, wait a day or two, then cut him, get him on the practice squad and then bring him up. That's probably the way they'll have to do it in that he's healthy for all intents and purposes, but no one knows how healthy he is. You say, hey, just trust us. Next year, you're our backup, we love you. Just wait this one out with us. You have Corliss Weightman hang out at the Hilton for a day or two while he gets a little, you know, get some spa treatments and stuff. It's a pretty good gig if you got to be the guy who wait out the roster spot. And then you have Rourke on the practice squad for the entire year. He gets the reps even if he can't practice early. It's fine. He's on the practice squad, doesn't matter. And then he can get into a game later on in the season if all hell breaks loose. But if you were to just cut him day of roster cut downs, someone might pick him up and put him on their 53. Somebody. I mean, there's the jets, there's the Browns. I mean, you can go down the list. Maybe the Lions. I mean, they brought in like, Josh Dobbs as their backup. They might be down with that. I don't know. I don't know who else really liked him in the draft process and would feel like Kyle Shanahan and Clay Kubiak. Getting their hands on him for two years would be the kind of positive thing that would actually do better than anything they could do in house. Like, they would view that as a positive as opposed to, we don't really know this guy. So I. I wouldn't get too cute with it, but I think they can get cute with it enough to where they don't have to use an IR spot, which could eliminate them for the year. They don't have to use a designated return IR spot, which they only have eight of, though I'm not sure if those. The two count and then yeah, so I think that there's going to be some very weird emails that are going to be very peculiar in the moment that they happen. And like 48 hours later it'd be like, oh, that was a lot of hand wringing for nothing. That's how I think it has to go this year because to the Niners credit, they have a lot of guys who should make a team and they don't have enough spots. On the flip side, they have a lot of guys who shouldn't make a team that probably will make a team just because of politics and pedigree. So, yeah, maybe work and play left guard. I don't know with his current capacities, but there we go. How do you feel about the safeties and their coverage abilities? If it's not good, can we mask it with pressure? What pressure? They're going to play a lot of too high, if not exclusively too high. And I think that if you cut the field in half for both of those guys, and I'm speaking specifically of Brown and Siegel, as it stands, I do not know how Malik Mustafa fits in here. If I'm being blunt, I don't think that Rahim Morris knows how Malik Mustafa fits in as well. But if, as it stands, I think both of those guys can do it because both of them can crash down pretty well and both of them are fine if they only have one half of the field to cover. So I do think that the system is going to help a hell of a lot more because I mean, you know what Robert Sala ran. Robert Salah was cover four on first down and then buzz cover three, rotate into a buzz cover three on second and third down every time. And it left Siegel in one on one situations where the other team knew it was a cover three and you saw how he got burned or it left Jair in, you know, one on one situations and you saw how he got like single high has been dead outside of the true greats for like six years and Bob Salah was still running that crap all the way to the end and telepath it, right? Like might as well have given the other team the play sheet. So I feel better about it. Actually, I don't feel great about it. I don't think that it is a position of strength by any stretch. It might be their weakest position. Tight end also has a conversation there. But I like Tonjas. I thought Braden Willis a nice game today. He started off slow, came on late. It's almost as if the competition level around him got worse. But we can. We can go down the line of positions that don't feel that awesome for this team right now. But I do think that safety is in a stable spot, and I do think that those two guys can play it. It's just not always going to be awesome. And, you know, I feel kind of bad for Jair, who got blown up and then that became a highlight. Like, you know, it would be even worse if he wasn't in on the play. It's kind of the argument. We've made a lot of basketball references today of like, guys getting dunked on. It's like, oh, I'm sorry. He tried to block the shot. What an asshole. What an Playing defense. Oh, he got posterized. Who cares? Who cares? Play the game. Sometimes you're going to get burned. Sometimes you're going to do the burning. And I prefer guys who commit heirs of commission. I will say this both him. Jair is not as fast to trigger, but he had a really great play pass breakup today. I think it was. Might have been a run stop. Apologies, but he crashed great. And I think that Siegel, who was not overt in this contest. Then we'll see when the All 22 comes out broadcast, does very poor jobs of telling us what the safeties are doing. But when Siegel. When I've seen Siegel, it is. I mean, he hits the whole like a bat out of hell. If there's a window to come in and make a run stop, he's going for it. And he has really good coverage ability sideline to sideline. He doesn't even have to do sideline to sideline anymore. And I think that's the biggest thing which Willis is next year's fullback. Are we talking about Braden Willis? Maybe. Probably not. I'm. I'm fascinated actually to figure out what happens to this team and, you know, 21 personnel post juice, because you can go to an h back thing. I mean, The Chargers have two. They had that 344 was like 320 pounds. They had him at. At fullback. And then they obviously have Alex Ingold, who's vitally important to what it is that they want to do on their side. He's their. Their. He's. He's their Juice. So be interesting. I mean, the reason they keep bringing. They tried to get rid of Juice, and then they couldn't find anybody to reasonably replace him. And Kyle went right back to the. To a safety blankie. There's still some conflict with this team. There's still some decisions that John makes that Kyle is a Good soldier for. And then Kyle pulls ranks and, you know, comes back to the guy. He's. He's very loyal. Very loyal because he is totally wed to his system. And I think the way to win is to have the players make the system, not the system make the players. And we are. It went. If. If and when this thing ends, it's because Kyle Shanahan kept trying to make the same players make the system or, yeah, be part of the system, but they couldn't do it anymore. Debo Samuel, Kyle use check. The list goes on where Sean McVeighs reinvented himself six times. They're now gap running team. They're now a, you know, a deep passing offense. They reinvent. You know, Bill Belichick's the greatest coach that ever did it. Why'd he fail? Well, he couldn't draft a wide receiver because he was overwhelmed with special teams. And because he got too tied to his systems, he lost the pragmatism that made him the greatest football coach ever. Kyle is still very pragmatic in many ways. You know, dash motion last year was a very nice wrinkle. I'm actually really curious to see how Kyle evolves as a schemer and a play caller this year, given that Brian Fleury is not here anymore. And most people don't know, but Brian Fleury was kind of one of many. But especially as of late, Kyle's ideas guy and Kyle's kind of big picture, almost esoteric thinker. I don't know if they have that in the building right now. They might, but I don't know. And without that, Kyle can get a little predictable and a little predictable with players that aren't at the peak of their powers and henceforth need the system to make them still, it's challenging. Challenging. It's what makes Stribling so exciting. It's what makes Black so exciting in that I think Stribling has the ability to be the kind of player where you build the system around him, you find ways to get him the ball, you figure out what can work best for him and around him. But there's just not that many of those players. Mike Evans is coming in to run Kyle's system. That's a great thing. He's a great player, but it's kind of one of the bigger macro things. And Jake and I will get into a lot of our things for this year. It's one of our favorite shows of the year, the things draft that we're gonna do. Very curious, very curious to see what Jake comes up with, but that's one of those I'm kicking around right now. Are we at the sort of end of the Kyle era? And I think the end of the Kyle era will show itself by the inability to adapt. The inability to adapt to the new ways that everybody's doing everything and just running the same old stuff and hoping that's good enough. You can still make a great amount of residuals on your old songs, but you got to keep making new songs if you want to stay relevant. It's a good question for Benali. Is Flurry a bigger gift for Seattle than I thought? I don't know what you thought. Benali, though, I do appreciate you sharing what you think, but I'm not sure he's going to be a good coordinator. I really don't. But I do think he has a good chance to be in the sense of he has ideas and he's coming in to a. What made Kubiak a good hire for them last year was that he instilled a lot of the basics that Brian Grubb was unable to do because he's not a detail or hinted guy. You bring in the son of a Kubiak, you're going to get a detail oriented guy. You're going to get your basics right, you're going to lift the floor and, you know, it's simple stuff. Like, I don't know, maybe we move JSN around the formation like they had one kind of smoke. It was, I don't know, move JSN around. Done. That worked great. We won the super bowl on the back of our defense, but we won the Super Bowl. Hey, how about we don't have Sam Darnold be in situations where he does dumb shit. Okay, cool. We'll. We'll make that basically our offensive game plan. Oh, it's not working in the second half of the season. I don't know. Let's move JSN around some more. Get to the Super Bowl. Sam Darnold wants to throw it away in the first half of the game. They're like, I don't know. Give the ball to Kenneth Walker. Let's block. Let's go. Let's have Kenneth Walker run right, like 30 times in a row. Oh, that worked great. I mean, I don't think that Clint Kubiak like reinvented anything. What he did was bring competency, baseline competency to a offense that had a lot of talent, that had a much improved offensive line. And John Benton, being their offensive line coach, you know, raised that level as well. And then, you know, they knew, just don't get in the way. And they could run a Jimmy Garoppolo offense. Allah devo Samuel 20, 21 different, you know, flavors of ice cream, but kind of the same thing. Like, when in doubt, get the ball to jsn, second option, run the ball. Those are our two things. If those two things don't work, we're going to lose. And you had one of the worst offenses in the NFL down the stretch, but that defense is so good, it didn't matter. So that's where you were at with Kubiak now Flurry. I don't know if he'll be able to hammer home those details, but I do know that he'll have cool ideas. He'll figure out fun ways. I think Elijah Arroyo, their tight end, who's not really a tight end, is going to get more opportunities in his second year now because Brian Fleury will think of ways to get Arroyo onto the field because he can make plays like. And again to then the counterpoint with Raheem Morris. Like, it's good to have a player like Jaden Duggar to where it's like, man, we got Elijah Arroyo out here or we got a Ronde Gadsden out here. These guys aren't really even tight ends. They're just big slot receivers. Do we have anyone who can guard him? Because it sure as hell end up in Stout. Yeah, it might be nice to have that guy on your roster. Now, it's not great if that guy can't do anything else for you, but these are things you work out down the line. It is still an offense. First thing, this is why you want Nikki Manwari, who you can just leave on the field, and he's going to be above average and everything, and great in that situation. In guarding tight ends and kind of bigger slot receivers, a Derwin James Fields, a Caleb Fields for Caleb Downs. Sorry, Caleb Downs for Ohio State. And now the Cowboys like having that kind of player, that star player is so vital because if you can keep them on the field full time, if they can do three or four different roles at a very high level, Kyle Hamilton, that's what you want. Jane Duggar isn't that. He could be. It's asking a hell of a lot. He could be, but that's not where he's at. But what is the alternative? You can't have Nick Martin going up against a tight end. If the tight end split out wide, is basically a flank receiver. And you're not putting Luke Gifford in coverage if you know what's good for you. So Garrett Wallow. Okay. You know, I like Garrett Wall. I thought he had a nice game today. But like I want Derek Wallow at will, not Sam. You know, I don't want to. I don't want Rebelo height out there in coverage. So this is where you're at. This is the kind of matchup. But the whole point is that you don't have to substitute that guy off the field. You're not matching up. You're just leaving him on there. And he can also do that thing again. This is where Fleury comes in. I think he will explore the space more. I wonder what the fall off will be when it comes to just the baseline competency. Because that team in Seattle should still be fundamentally built on the premise of just don't this up for our defense. Our defense will win the game. Just don't it up. And if you're trying to get weird and funky with it, sometimes it's not funky, it's fucked up. You fuck up. So very curious. I have no earthly idea, but I just. I do know that Brian Fleury, the inventor of Dash Motion is, is kind of the ideas guy and Kyle is very wedded to his schemes. Very wedded to what works. And, and as we see it manifests into very wedded to players that fit the system as opposed to being wedded to great players who force you to change your system a little bit. All right, a couple reminders. We'll head out. I'll get the film in tomorrow and we'll talk about it when I'm. When I'm done breaking it all down. Jake's going to go look at whales and pick blueberries as one does. I don't know if he's one of us anymore. He might be lost to the wilderness. Couple, couple reminders. If you want to get in on these post game streams and, and comment, we would love to have you. Very appreciative of everyone who joined us here tonight. You should become a member. I might have been messing this up the whole time. It is not surprising. I like Brian Flurry. I'm a big ideas man. Maybe not the most detailed. You just have to be a sicko to get in on this thing right here. If you want to comment on the streams, get your stuff up on screen. We appreciate the super chats. I won't say they're not necessary because we love the money so much, but. And that was five dollar beers. I mean another dollar and 80 cents. I can get one at the Giants game and it might be, you know, six, seven ounces. The, the sicko tier, the lowest tier gets you in on this official Sickos. Get the, the Car Seat Chronicles and a bunch of other cool, you know, video breakdown stuff that we'll be doing as the season goes on. And yeah, just really excited for all the cool stuff that we got going on behind the scenes right now. Another couple contests are coming here in the next couple of days. We're finished. We're hashing out the details on that. I will also add we added a couple folks to the college fantasy football. I got to get like four more. So if you are a member, hit me up at Dieter on Twitter. Hit me up. I can get the link. You check the post tab on the YouTube page. You'll see it. It's in there somewhere. I think I threw it in the comments section a couple times too. So I guess anyone could get in on this action now. Yeah, we just need like four more members. We get 14. I feel like that's good enough that we can actually play and we can do it earnestly. When we were rocking with 10, I was just kind of running through some of it and I'm like, this is. There's too many players and teams. Like, I'm not sure this would be fun. So 14 is kind of the number. I'd love 15, I'd love 20. We'll take as many as we can get. But if you want to get in on college fantasy football, we're doing it on Yahoo this year. It's going to be a fun new weird thing for everybody. We're experimenting and, you know, stuff might go in places that we didn't want it to go initially, but we're going to be better for the experience. And yeah, get in on that. Get in on fantasy college football. Really appreciate it. Jake is back next week. We will be breaking down everything between now and the Raiders preseason game and then these sons of are on a plane to Australia and all the weird stuff that's going to be coming before that. This is go time for us. This is go time for you. And I guess it's go time for us this evening as well. Again, become a member. Get in on the action here on these live streams. Get in on the action with the Car Seat Chronicles and all the other cool stuff we'll be doing behind the scenes. A lot of videos that wouldn't get monetized on YouTube realms. Well, we'll be throwing them to you anyway and, and breaking down some film and all that great stuff. Bunch of great stuff coming. Really looking forward to all of it. Really looking forward to going to bed tonight as well. It's midnight. I'm saying bye. Adios.
