[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreigner and Hutch. We have watched the tape and now we burn it. We burn the tape. If you're the Miami Dolphins, Lots to get into here. I do think that that game somewhat lied to us on first watch. I think there were some details and nuances in there that weren't immediately gleaned and.
Curious to get your thoughts on it, Jake. And, yeah, and kind of just start off with, I don't know, blanket statements, if you will.
[00:00:35] Speaker B: I'll start with the Dolphins, who are both miles and miles and miles away. And also, if you squint, you're like, I could maybe see that maybe, possibly. I understand theoretically what you're trying to do. It's not going to happen, not this year.
But. But I, I get it. They did slow the 49ers down the ground. They kind of sold out there.
But, like, the 49ers did a lot of what we expected, a spammed play action.
You were right. I predicted a big Debo game. It was not a big Debo game. It was a big kiddo game, as you predicted.
[00:01:12] Speaker A: Yeah, it could have been a big Debo game. It could have been pretty much a big anybody game. Dudes were just correct. Wide open.
[00:01:18] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's funny, I thought the Dolphins did an okay job up to a point, and then it just collapsed like it was just a neutron star where once they realized it was not gonna happen, it really was over.
[00:01:33] Speaker A: Right.
[00:01:34] Speaker B: And there's plenty to break into. Like the 49ers going to a lot of five man fronts on defense.
I, I, the most, I mean, the thing I'm most excited to talk about kind of is Marquis Siegel.
[00:01:46] Speaker A: Sure. Let's start there.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: He looks sick. He likes. He looks like the sort of like alpha safety in that group.
[00:01:56] Speaker A: Oh, boy. I don't know if that's. He just fires so decisively and violently to the ball that when you have a game that's played entirely in front of them and when you're playing too high shell, that is almost inherent.
Um, why is a great special teams player, like, I know I keep coming back to it, but it's so telling that Jair Brown needs to be. And I thought, to be very clear here, I thought Jair Brown had a very nice game as a run defender.
[00:02:25] Speaker B: Probably saved the touchdown, maybe arguably saved a touchdown.
[00:02:28] Speaker A: Crashing off the edge. Yeah, the really good stuff.
He's. He should be your strong sidelinebacker. That should be. He should be that. And you find somebody else to play safety. I mean, I don't know. Ashton Davis Malik Mustafa play somebody else there have.
[00:02:43] Speaker B: Malik came in for a rep or two. I don't know what happened with Jair, but he came in for a few. I was hoping they stuck with him and they didn't. No back to Jair. But he had a good, great rep against a wheel route. Just covered it perfectly.
[00:02:54] Speaker A: He did. So that pullback, by the way, is
[00:02:56] Speaker B: God awful for Miami.
[00:02:58] Speaker A: Well, and I'm in the press box and it's coming right at us visually, that play. And you can see Malik Willis who's obviously looking only at that fullback who's coming around. And I'm like, I'm literally muttering to myself, it's a fullback, it's a fullback, It's a fullback. Don't throw in the ball in the league. It's a fullback. Don't. He throws in the ball and it's like, it's a fullback. What did you think was going to happen? He was going to go up and moss him?
It was. It was really, really tough. As someone who holds a small amount of affection for a different part of my life for the Miami Dolphins, or maybe just has sympathy in my heart for the Miami Dolphins and their fans, like a real.
A real tough watch, but I agree with you. I mean, they tried to overcome their talent shortcomings with scheme and when they were going to stop the run, they 100% stopped the run. Right. They threw everybody at it. There were a couple of pretty interesting wrinkles that they had on defense I really liked. And this is something that we're going to need to watch out for because I don't think the Niners handled it well, particularly early.
But they did some Baltimorean go to chaos defense, Floresian things where they loaded six up on the line and four came and two dropped, but it was four from one side and two guys dropped off of the weak side. And the Niners protection scheme had no idea what to do with that. They're gonna see that again. Someone's gonna have, you know, there's some pork. Staffer is gonna have to watch this tape and pat it out. And they're going to note that there.
When they sold out to stop the pass, I thought Brock did an unbelievable job.
[00:04:38] Speaker B: Phenomenal. I don't. I'm not sure he did anything wrong at all in this game.
[00:04:43] Speaker A: I will note that. I don't think that the pass to Debo that Debo dropped was properly placed. He was also one on one with the defensive end on that play.
[00:04:54] Speaker B: Yes. It was also something where it's. I feel like Any wide receiver that's like backing up, doing the thing where you're like backing up and trying to catch it over your head, I feel like that goes wrong most of the time.
[00:05:06] Speaker A: We also have noted that Diva cannot catch a ball over his head, which makes it.
[00:05:10] Speaker B: It's funny. He can catch it if he's jumping or at least used to be able to do that.
[00:05:15] Speaker A: Interesting.
I want to get into this because watching the game live, it's impossible and there's an anchoring here, to be fair.
But it was impossible not to be somewhat despondent, if you will, about the 49ers interior run defense because it did feel like there was some crazy push. Now they have Proctor and they got Brewer, and those are two really good players. At least Proctor in the run game right now.
I. I was just going through all the reps, though, before we came on.
[00:05:44] Speaker B: Yeah,
[00:05:47] Speaker A: I. C.J. west did not play well. I don't want to say that he played well. It wasn't as bad as it felt in the game.
James. James Thompson was worse than it looked.
[00:05:58] Speaker B: OSA got washed out pretty bad a
[00:06:00] Speaker A: couple times, and that was noted. I think that I. I think I had a good peg on OSA in game, but CJ CJ had some interesting reps that he just didn't finish.
[00:06:11] Speaker B: He had like a few that he should have had a couple run stops. And I think the stumpiness showed up a little bit. But it's still. I think when you disrupt in the backfield and slow down the run, that's still a net positive on the play.
[00:06:22] Speaker A: I should also note, like, Devon HN is disgusting. He's so good.
[00:06:28] Speaker B: Yeah. And there's one play where it was like, Fred Warner was not even in bad position. Then HN was just gone. And you're like, holy.
[00:06:36] Speaker A: Also, I gotta say this. I know it's blasphemous. I don't think Fred played very well. I don't think Fred played to his normal standard. I don't think he was up for this game. I can't blame him, but I don't think he played very well.
I thought he was the second best linebacker on the field. And there were plenty of warts on Greenlaw's game. But the Dolphins did a good job of run blocking. They kept it a little bit more simple than they did against the Raiders, so they weren't doing that student body left crap. And their wide receivers block pretty damn well. It's evident that that's something that they prioritize when they brought in a Whole new wide receiver group. Bobby Slowik. Hey, who cares if you ever separate. What's it matter? He's not going to see anyway. It's a one read pony.
So let's just make sure you're like a really good blocker. And Scotty Miller's cousin or whomever like had a really nice seal block that broke a hn. There were some really nice blocks there. But H hand's unbelievable. And if I were to have told you contextually removing all of the knowledge that we had coming into this game that Devon HN had 18 carries for 66 yards, you'd be like, oh, that's a really nice run defense game. And that is effectively what Devon Achan had. He did end with 74 yards. Two of those were sneak attack third and long runs that did not get first downs because the 49ers, and this is something that Raheem is going to have to pay attention to here.
He's trying to be aggressive early right this season in this. He's trying to be aggressive. He's really selling out for with the dime stuff that's selling out for the pass with some of the personnel that he's put on the field. Like one defensive tackle, three defensive ends or no defensive tackles on the field. Like he's selling out on third and longs.
Well, Miami did a really nice job of saying, cool catch, Devon HN now on the run game, here's 8 yards, here's 9 yards and that will set us up. One of them came after a hold, so they kind of gave up on it. But they did get a first down off of a fourth down conversion on an earlier one. But 18 for 66 for HN, no touchdowns. Like that's a good day in the office.
So the one thing that I do believe everybody, including myself, came out of that game being like, oh, I don't know. And I do think that that's a thing that other teams are going to exploit better with that run game. Like, it wasn't all that bad. It really, it really was pretty functionally sound, especially for a game they could not have been emotionally up.
[00:08:58] Speaker B: Just a lot of Miami being like, we are willing to take four and five yards and then you give up like a seven yarder and you're like, that was not a great one.
Yeah, it was. It was totally functional and mediocre.
Right.
I just, you know, it's tough because I think they're going to get tested in a lot of different ways by different teams and there's going to be A lot of different schemes that's going to get thrown at them to. Especially with the aggressiveness they show. It's like, you saw it, like with Willis. I think I'm trying to remember who it was I saw yesterday who contained the qb. I think it was. I think it was last night, actually. The Colts with Mahomes. Yeah. Whenever. Whenever Mahomes was like, about to scramble, they stopped and they loop back. And the 49ers don't do a great job of that. Typically.
[00:09:48] Speaker A: They don't do that.
[00:09:50] Speaker B: Right. They just.
[00:09:51] Speaker A: Yeah, they don't sometimes do it on just like, I'm a smart football player and like, on principle, it doesn't seem
[00:09:58] Speaker B: like they're ever coached to do that, which I think is a fair criticism of Kasuric.
But I do, I do wonder, like, I would love to know. I think we were due for like a Mikel Williams update, like, how much that helps because fundamentally, if he's in there, my concerns about the defensive front in the run game are just so, so low. Like, if, if it's him and Bosa, like, I. I have a lot of confidence that they're going to figure out, especially with Keon White, who can also play in kind of any role. Like, I just think there's enough there if Williams comes back healthy by week five. Now, if he's not healthy.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: No. Well, first off, I talked to him. He should be back for week five. He could be blowing smoke up my ass. That's fine. He's moving around. Fine. They're giving him the extra couple weeks. Like, I, I think that it's there.
So I feel good about him in Seattle on October 11th, but that doesn't solve the duo issue.
Like, four down linemen. Yeah, great. You have these unbelievable.
Yeah. Greenlaw helps with that and Fred being activated helps with that. And that was an issue. They didn't run it very often, but when they did, it's like, hey, Fred, that was your. That was your gap. You need to get in there. But he's kind of hanging around and just. Just looked like somebody who's like, I don't need to go all out in this game. Which is kind of the curse of being really smart. He just knows that he doesn't have to try that hard in this game.
[00:11:26] Speaker B: Like, and again, I don't think he was terrible by any stretch. He picked a lot of nice coverage on Achan and a lot of underneath stuff. But, yeah, it wasn't.
[00:11:35] Speaker A: That was not. Fred did not have, like, wow. Impact plays. The guys who did Were Greenlaw who just hit the bejesus out of dudes and. And Upton Stout who is a maniac of the highest order and correct. I don't, I don't know how you game plan on either the defensive or the opposite offensive side for Upton Stout because a little man should not be playing that violently.
[00:12:01] Speaker B: He's so mad at all times and it's the only way you can survive that way. I will say there was not a lot of Jaden Duggar. I did like the Jaden Duggar I saw today.
[00:12:10] Speaker A: The Jaden Duggar tape has been good to start this season.
[00:12:13] Speaker B: In the situation they're like, listen, you're an edge rusher. Just set the edge. Play physical clean out tight ends that are trying to attack. You showed up in the goal like, goal line package a couple times. He looked good. It was not much. And I think in a limited role that's the way to use.
[00:12:30] Speaker A: I do like the concept of him in a goal line package. Now that can get murky the second that you get a good offensive coordinator and they decide to run across or right at him and he has to make a decision. But that could also work out. But his length is good in the same way that we liked. If you know, you liked specifically, I'll give you the credit for it. Ephesians Price sock is like red zone. Only corner on the boundary like that that can work with Duggar just being a big body in space. Hell of a lot better than Luke Gifford. Hell, you know, like, what are your alternatives? Let's give the kids some run. But it does have to be special teams.
[00:13:03] Speaker B: Looking good. Still looking.
[00:13:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:13:06] Speaker B: They almost let. Let the. I feel like there's one where they almost bounced one, but Gifford, I think the Gifford missed. It's been notably good.
[00:13:13] Speaker A: Yes, it has. And it was. It was Jair and Gifford that failed on the play that you're thinking about. And the Gifford one, it's like, okay, well, I'll give him benefit of the doubt there. The Jair one again, I keep coming back to it. Like, I need my safeties to be incredible on special teams. Not, not that they have to be playing special teams, but if they are playing special teams, I really want them to be good at it because that implies that they can see the full field, they can create correct angles in pursuit, all of these. And Marquis Siegel is awesome, awesome, awesome on. On special teams. And Jair Brown has about one, you know, forgive the old timey term boner per game on special teams. And it's like, man, isn't that a bit of a tell? Maybe you're a linebacker. Maybe you're just someone who needs to
[00:13:59] Speaker B: be in the box and just the old Jamal Adams.
[00:14:03] Speaker A: Wow. Okay. I don't think Jamal Adams. I think actually Jamal Adams had less wiggle than Jair had in the late stage Sam linebacker stage. He was just.
[00:14:12] Speaker B: What's awesome about Jamal Adams is went from being like an all pro caliber safety as like a rookie when the NFL was like in a totally. Everyone played totally different era where it was not nearly as complex and they. The safeties didn't have to be real intelligent and do all these things.
And then he turned into like a specialty edge rusher only like he was a great blitzer and that's kind of all he could do.
Weird player.
[00:14:41] Speaker A: Is he still employed anywhere?
[00:14:43] Speaker B: I don't think he had a season ending injury early for the Vikings this year.
[00:14:47] Speaker A: Oh, wow. Actually if there's any place that a very weird specific clicks. I'm pretty sure he tried with the Raiders last year and it's like, what are we doing? He was, he was effectively.
[00:14:58] Speaker B: Oh yeah, he snapped his leg.
[00:14:59] Speaker A: Oh, that's terrible for him. But yeah, but you're right.
[00:15:03] Speaker B: Like the, the Vikings floor isn't gonna figure it out. A guy like that.
[00:15:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Or as it's going to be like, what can you do? Cool.
[00:15:10] Speaker B: Can you do that of Andrew Van Ginkels?
[00:15:12] Speaker A: Exactly. There's nothing wrong with that.
And yeah, that, that, that's. That's fun. Again, some of the stuff that the, the Dolphins were doing in this game, particularly defensively, I do think is going to be a real issue for the 49ers when we get to obviously Seattle though night and day, and we know what Seattle's all about.
But I would imagine Atlanta on October 25th is going to note some of the stuff from this game and say, oh yeah, we can do that. They're a terrible team. But Ulbricht brings it right, like, oh, yeah, sure, okay. Don't care.
[00:15:48] Speaker B: I'm sorry, I can't. I can't talk about the Atlanta Falcons right now. I hear what you're saying and it's valid. I just refuse to acknowledge anything related to the Atlanta Falcons at this moment in time.
[00:15:58] Speaker A: That's fine. And then certainly, certainly November 22nd. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. You get to go play Brian Flores in a foreign country.
[00:16:07] Speaker B: Right.
[00:16:07] Speaker A: Gonna be a lot of tape by that.
[00:16:09] Speaker B: At elevation.
[00:16:10] Speaker A: At elevation. At just. At full bore. Sunday night football in Mexico City. You're coming off of a game against the. You haven't Been home for a week. You're coming off a game against the Cowboys, which should be a blast, right?
[00:16:23] Speaker B: They'll go, they'll go to do the, the thing in with the Air Force in Colorado.
[00:16:29] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:16:29] Speaker B: At elevation. Probably before the Cowboys fly down to Dallas and then fly back, I would imagine. Or they just stay the whole week. No, no, they probably stay after Dallas. They just fly up to Colorado.
[00:16:40] Speaker A: Yeah, that is a, it is a kind of wild stretch that they have here, which it's a long ways away and there's a lot of stuff that's going to happen between now and then, but I don't know if I've properly contextualized, at least in my mind, the stretch of post by. You get the Raiders at home. Okay. Like, Raiders are playing nice ball. They're well coached. They don't have the dudes yet. We'll see where we're at there. But they're functional. Like Raiders are functional, which is a real improvement.
[00:17:08] Speaker B: They're feisty and Max Crosby is a lunatic. And you know, there's, you know, if you don't take them seriously, you can
[00:17:14] Speaker A: get into trouble 100%. Like not unlike the Dolphins where you don't have to take them seriously and you will not get into trouble. But then you get the Cowboys, the Vikings and the Seahawks, three in a row.
That's.
[00:17:27] Speaker B: It's not, that's not a fun stretch. Cowboys on the road.
[00:17:30] Speaker A: That's the season. If you go 2 and 1 there, you might be the favorites in the NFC. If you go 1 and 2, you're probably just a wild card team. And if you don't win any of those games, which is viable, you could also win all three. And then of course, you know, my
[00:17:45] Speaker B: God, it's a real pain in the ass the second half of the schedule.
[00:17:49] Speaker A: It is, you know, it is like
[00:17:50] Speaker B: even the Giants are not like a given. And it's on the road at MetLife, which is just the most cursed possible
[00:17:58] Speaker A: game after a body blow game against
[00:18:00] Speaker B: the Seahawks in an early game against the Giants. Early body clock game.
[00:18:04] Speaker A: Early body clock. Love it. By the way, that Atlanta game is a cross country AM game. Like after. On a short week. I literally have CCAMSW annotated on the schedule. Cross country AM short week. It doesn't seem ideal except luckily it's the Falcons.
[00:18:24] Speaker B: Yeah, it's not, it's not a good setup now.
[00:18:28] Speaker A: Yeah, well.
[00:18:29] Speaker B: But I will say the fact that they have a buy after it, I suspect they take that game too seriously.
Yeah, maybe, maybe not. There's always something weird with the Falcons.
[00:18:39] Speaker A: It doesn't matter. There's a lot of stuff. And I'm very excited to watch this Cardinals tape. They could have probably lost 38 to nothing yesterday, but again, kind of like what we were talking about with the Raiders, like, if you don't. Don't take them seriously, they'll give you something.
[00:18:53] Speaker B: They got to be. They got to be 5 and 2 by that buy.
Okay. And they should be very well.
[00:19:00] Speaker A: Should be. Yeah. Yeah. Five and two. Feels. It doesn't. It's not a minimum because you don't know Monday Night Football with the. The Commanders, if Daniels is back or whatever. But, like, they.
[00:19:10] Speaker B: I'm excited.
[00:19:12] Speaker A: Do you think they'll be favored. I don't know this. Do you think they'll be favored against the Broncos in Week four?
[00:19:19] Speaker B: As it stands right now, I would say yes.
[00:19:24] Speaker A: Yeah, I think so, too. I would buy it.
[00:19:26] Speaker B: I would say if the Broncos look great in the 49ers, have a weird game against the Cardinals. I think it gets closer to even.
[00:19:31] Speaker A: Okay. I mean, so they'll be favored in all but one game. They will not be favored in Seattle. It doesn't matter who their quarterback is. They won't be favored in Seattle. Oh, well, I don't know.
I don't know.
I say it out loud and I'm like, pull it back. I don't know.
[00:19:46] Speaker B: They.
[00:19:47] Speaker A: They might be a one point favorite in Seatt if Drew Lock's the quarterback. I don't know. I don't think that's accurate. I thought that that was a ridiculous line in that Seattle Arizona game. You're like, you're telling me that Sam Darnold, the NFL's turnover leader last year, is five and a half points better than Drew Lock. Like maybe three.
More like two.
[00:20:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:20:08] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:20:10] Speaker B: He's worth a couple.
[00:20:11] Speaker A: I don't disagree. Can I tell you about my favorite play in this past game?
[00:20:16] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:20:16] Speaker A: First off, to note, a lot of interesting stuff that they were doing with Debo early that I expect is going to pay off some dividends, especially now with the Marcus Robinson out.
They put him in the eye formation as the fullback and a straight eye. That was interesting.
Yep. They had a bunch of fake tosses to him.
They had a really loose orbit reverse setup for him that he was wide open for, but they didn't need to go to him because everyone else was also open.
You know, obviously the baseline crossers and stuff. I do think that Debo, some of the stuff that they've now put in with Debo and you know, going back to the old stuff with Debo is now vitally important given where the receiver room is at. And we'll get into that in a second, but I want to take you to 7 minutes and 50 seconds left in the third quarter. Score is 21 to 6, 49ers.
This is just after the Kyle use check. Mike Evans standing in the same place pass, which was hilarious, use check said that he got a bad read on that play and he thought that it was inside leverage. And it was. If it's inside leverage you do this and if it's outside leverage, you do that to Evans.
It turns out there was no leverage because Willie Gay straight up missed him. Like Mike Evans just night crawlered away.
So Juice had no ability to read what leverage it was because no one decided to cover Mike Evans. So they ended up in the same spot. The next play after that, seven step drop back from under center. No play action against cover two and Juice is lined up at tight end. They run the corner route.
[00:21:52] Speaker B: This is the play I literally said would be there for Kittle and it was there for Juice. And I really was looking at the notes and I went, that's the play.
[00:22:00] Speaker A: Perfect throw. Splits the safety in the corner back on the COVID to 21 yards.
[00:22:05] Speaker B: Right? Because. Because the corner, who is the linebacker, didn't also get depth and, and Brock threw it inside a little bit more so he, he wouldn't have to deal with that. But it was like the exact thing we talked about.
[00:22:18] Speaker A: It's, it's what warmed my heart about it is that it was cover two versus a classic seven step drop back. And what is new is old and what is old is new.
[00:22:30] Speaker B: Like to be fair, the Niners have done a ton of, of that and, and everyone else has sort of copied that with the under, under center drop backs. Kyle's done that and gotten that.
[00:22:39] Speaker A: I mean, Sean, Sean, Sean had a run with it last year where they would do it, but like, yeah, they run a lot of under center stuff. It usually involves a play action. It doesn't always have to. But isn't it so weird that like 1997 passing offense Vinnie Testaverde is this like frightening thing to defenses that they don't know what to do with anymore?
[00:22:59] Speaker B: Did you see when the Dolphins did it where it was under center and they had hn bump like 2 yards offset where it's like, oh, this is going to be a seven step drop under center and they just had a chain offset, which I thought was really clever. I actually think Like, I know I've still probably got a soft spot in my heart for Slowik. I thought he called some cool stuff.
[00:23:20] Speaker A: There was some cool stuff in this.
[00:23:21] Speaker B: There were some cool wrinkles, but like that one where they ran it with a chan and it looked like it was supposed to be one of those seven step drops and it caught the 49ers off guard a little bit. Was really fun. The. The Dolphins also had like a third nine conversion where Proctor pulled and kicked out OSA or. Yeah, and it was. It was not a conversion, but it was like 4th and inches for the next play.
[00:23:41] Speaker A: Yeah, that. That was that third. That was that third down run. The first one they did with hn. Yeah. In the first quarter. And then they got it on the quarterback sneak after that.
I will say for, for the defensive tackles, I thought Halton had a really nice game and stood up pretty well in the run game. Not great, but pretty well.
[00:23:57] Speaker B: And his ability disengaging at the point of the runners, like right there. And he's not necessarily winning his rep, but he's able to like use that torque and disengage even if he hasn't actually played all that well.
[00:24:13] Speaker A: He had a couple of interesting plays where he would just get across the face without touching anybody, which is like really hard to do.
And he's just.
That phone booth area. He is just really good at finding space to get himself unblocked. And after that, it's anybody's guess because it kind of ruins plays. So more Halton. I think that they're going to keep running C.J. because the tape didn't look as bad as the game film or the live.
[00:24:40] Speaker B: He's getting penetration.
It's inconsistent, but he's not been a disaster. It's been disappointing at times. There have been a couple plays that have been disastrous, but it is like they don't have a lot of options there anyway. And I think the heft he brings, I. I think it's a matter to me. Again, I think he's going to be a second half player.
Playing him more. God damn it.
I stole the line.
I do think that you knew where you were going.
[00:25:09] Speaker A: We're getting predictable.
[00:25:10] Speaker B: Corny. It's corny.
But yeah, I, I think he will be better as the season goes. Again, I don't think either one of us were, like, wildly impressed, but there, there is some good. And it's not all right.
[00:25:24] Speaker A: No, no, no. I would still qualify. I'm not taking him out of the duds column, but, like, it is.
It. It Felt heavier in the moment, perhaps because of expectation. Right. Just like this should be the week you get. Right. Like, okay, the Rams duo'd you to hell. Like, this team doesn't really run that much duo, so, like, you should look a lot better. And then it.
You see, you know, a lot of, you know, marginally successful runs for the Dolphins, and you're like, what the hell, man? Like, can we stand up?
[00:25:52] Speaker B: The Dolphins don't have a coordinated or talented offensive line, but they do have a lot of heft.
And there is some beef and athleticism from that line. That, again, all over the place.
But, like Savinea Proctor, that's. That's a lot of weight.
[00:26:10] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:26:10] Speaker B: Being thrown around Proctors.
[00:26:13] Speaker A: Proctor has a chance to be really, really fun. I don't know if he'll ever be, like, really good, but he's definitely going to be someone that you're gonna get you, you know, Twitter highlights of, like,
[00:26:24] Speaker B: they didn't run the play for him. I was disappointed.
[00:26:26] Speaker A: They didn't. No, they didn't run the play for him. I also thought that this would have been a great week to get the Trent Williams touchdown, and the circumstance never arose. But it's Christian McCaffrey's running into the back of the line again and again. I'm like, just get it to third down and we can do this.
[00:26:40] Speaker B: I did, like, when Carver Willis came in and immediately ended up on the ground first.
[00:26:44] Speaker A: Yeah, I will. I will not lie to you. Fourth quarter of that game, I did not pay much attention. And then when I'm cutting them, I'm in NFL Pro this morning, I'm like, yeah, we're going to go first, second and third quarter, I don't think.
[00:26:57] Speaker B: Yeah, no. I mean, I did the same thing. It's unfortunate. I'm going to have to grade it out, which I am.
[00:27:03] Speaker A: More people.
[00:27:05] Speaker B: Yeah, it's awful. But what I'm trying to do is use a cutoff. You know, basically use, like, leverage, a leverage calculation to be like, okay, how did. How did they actually perform when the game was in hand and for this game, the game was out of hand. But, like, as soon as you get to the fourth quarter, it's. As soon as Mac Jones is in the game, it's not even a game. That's.
[00:27:27] Speaker A: Yeah, that's done. I mean, I. There might be a literal.
[00:27:30] Speaker B: I may not grade that. I may not grade that, if I'm being honest. We'll see.
[00:27:35] Speaker A: I mean, the second Kharem comes in, is. Is the game not over? Is that not a A finished contest.
[00:27:42] Speaker B: It was over pretty early.
[00:27:43] Speaker A: It was over. Well, actually, it wasn't. I mean, the first half of this game, the Niners had two offensive possessions. They scored on both of them. But, like, they went into halftime up one score.
[00:27:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:27:53] Speaker A: One possession and pretty early in the second half.
[00:27:56] Speaker B: Let me rephrase.
[00:27:57] Speaker A: Yeah. No, no, no.
[00:27:58] Speaker B: Then, I mean, it was again, also the easiest game to predict. A lot of, a lot of what we predicted came true. Like, again, we both predicted. Romello Height gets his first sack. Now, it was one where he had to run him out of bounds, but
[00:28:11] Speaker A: it still was a cheap as hell. Yep. Does it count?
[00:28:14] Speaker B: It still counts. I predicted, I predicted the 49ers would sack Malik Willis three or four times. They sacked him four times. A lot of play action. They just ran an absolute ton of play action.
[00:28:23] Speaker A: I, Christian McCaffrey more receiving yards than rushing.
[00:28:27] Speaker B: I saw that. I saw that pop up. Yeah, that was a good one. I felt good about Devon Hn. Yes. Offense. Dolphins offense looks inconsistent. Yes. Big Debo game. No, but big Kiddle game. Yes.
[00:28:38] Speaker A: Yeah, they've, they've inner. They've interloped one.
[00:28:42] Speaker B: One that we were wrong on. We'd be talking a lot about Chris Johnson. We didn't because it didn't matter and it couldn't.
[00:28:48] Speaker A: I, I did.
[00:28:49] Speaker B: See, I didn't.
[00:28:49] Speaker A: Yeah, I did make sure to find something to talk about. Chris Johnson. Did you see Kalon Black throw him into a shadow realm in the third quarter of this game?
[00:28:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:28:58] Speaker A: Our boy Chris Johnson. We got to save him. We should have.
[00:29:01] Speaker B: Feisty. Listen, he was fighting the whole game, even when they were getting cooked.
[00:29:04] Speaker A: It's great. I, I, I like Chris Johnson a lot. And I wish that we would have gotten one of those, like, steamer trunks or whatever that they use to transport people, and we could have, like, hit him in it and kept him, kept him around here.
[00:29:16] Speaker B: Yeah, I, I think it's going to be one of those players who, like, probably deserves a few points, Pro Bowls or All Pros. And then the team's so bad that no one actually, like, notices how good he is. And then he gets, like, a sneaky good contract. People like, oh, yeah, he's really good.
[00:29:31] Speaker A: He's like, he's like love with the, the Seahawks. It's like, he was a good player. And then he goes to Seattle and yeah.
[00:29:37] Speaker B: Where Kyle Shanahan was like, he's the smartest player in the NFL.
[00:29:41] Speaker A: Yeah, well, he's really good and he fits exactly what they wanted over there. So it's, it's just one of those where just stay healthy long enough for someone to come and save you from Miami. Which by the way, Miam might save themselves. It's just shout out Fran for Shella. Two years away from being two years away.
[00:29:59] Speaker B: They're gonna drop 40 on some poor soul this season. It's. There's gonna come together for one shining moment and when I said 40, I take it back. They're gonna drop like 30 on somebody. There's gonna be one game where it all clicks and it looks incredible.
I don't, I don't know if it will be more than one game, but I do think there's going to be one game where it clicks for.
[00:30:20] Speaker A: I mean they play the Chiefs next week.
Vikings. Oh, the war crimes that the Vikings are going to commit against the Dolphins. Bengals after that. By the way, good time to be a Bengals optimist for you. That's. It's looking real well. Who knew you only needed Dexter Lawrence to make a good defense.
[00:30:37] Speaker B: I told you I was, I was a fan of the addition. I How about the, the Chargers?
[00:30:43] Speaker A: It's not going great and Lottie's pissed. Not gonna lie. I think two two cow cheep dos question. Indeed they do. They play the Lions. This is the dolphins on November 8th.
There is no Cowboys nor is their commanders but they do get Dolphins was
[00:31:02] Speaker B: probably gonna have a total of 70 something.
[00:31:07] Speaker A: They get the Colts. Colts are kind of, they're a rainbow road. They're fun. They're a fun time.
They get the Chargers.
[00:31:15] Speaker B: See their safety, by the way, the, the rookie safety who came in like Galushkin or something. He's awesome.
[00:31:21] Speaker A: I listen, I, I, I, I'm working. I don't, I don't have a lot of time to enjoy Sunday Night Football. Here's a guy who can't watch Sunday Night Football.
[00:31:30] Speaker B: Practice squad guy came in.
It was, it was, he was.
[00:31:35] Speaker A: It's dire times for the Colts right now, my friend. It is.
Is boy Daniel Jones can't throw the ball anymore. He can't deliver any power.
[00:31:46] Speaker B: Yeah. I also had a guy in our league who drafted, you know, Alec Pierce. And I went, I wouldn't do that.
The guy, he's looking good.
And then I don't know what happened, but it did not look great.
[00:32:02] Speaker A: All right, so let's get to some questions and it's good to see questions. I do want cow chip toe. To God, sauce is awful. I mean that, that's when you knew. I remember that trade goes down and we're like, oh no, the jets just absolutely cleaned the Colts clock.
And it's just a desperation thing. By the way, along those same lines, when you watch the Lions defense, the emotional blitzing that they do, like they just gave up a big play so now they're gonna blitz. It's like, that's not how you do this. That's what, that's what someone 13 year old in Madden does. Like, this isn't good. So fun times.
All right, let's get into all the good stuff here.
[00:32:44] Speaker B: Okay, so let's start with what are the chances I'm just gonna do these in order that we trade for DeForest Buckner. I'm looking at his contract.
[00:32:54] Speaker A: Tell me right now.
[00:32:57] Speaker B: So his base salary itself is only 13 mil.
[00:33:03] Speaker A: So they can handle in the last
[00:33:04] Speaker B: year of his deal. It could go sideways for the Colts. Sideways.
Most of these I usually laugh at.
Yeah, it's, it's possible.
It's, it's not an outrageous contract. Yes, the 49ers are trying to carry over most of their cap, but they also, like, they have enough to take that on. It's also prorated. It's not like a full 13 million.
So it's possible. It's, it's. So it's very, very possible. I wouldn't say it's likely, no. But for, you know, at 13 million and the Colts being desperate for like, what would they trade him for? A third?
[00:33:45] Speaker A: I think it'd have to be lower than that. I don't think.
[00:33:47] Speaker B: Fourth, right? Like fourth or fifth, 32.
[00:33:50] Speaker A: You could do it. You could do a 28 third.
I also maintain that I don't want to touch anything in the 27 draft. Now with the Niners, it goes the other way around where it's like, what the hell are they going to do with it?
Like, like I'm further along in draft evaluations on 27 than the Niners are because the assistant coaches don't have any time to handle the 27 draft right now.
[00:34:13] Speaker B: You give them Nick Martin and a 20, 28, 4.
[00:34:17] Speaker A: Give them who's them at this juncture. Like the other thing too is like Chris Ballard's fighting for his life out here. Like, is he looking, is he looking to offset dudes? Is this a going out of business sale?
[00:34:29] Speaker B: It's.
I can't fathom a scenario where he's
[00:34:34] Speaker A: going to trade DeForest Buckner so that they get worse. Like there's self preservation in here. Yeah. I mean, it'd be the right move.
[00:34:41] Speaker B: Say, all right, let's hit free agency and we'll get a comp pick in a couple of years. But I will say, I, I, I don't think that's out of the realm of possible.
[00:34:50] Speaker A: No, no expiring con. And I do have to ask you. I don't know the answer to this and forgive me if you don't.
The void year that apply to Buckner's contract, would those go on the Niners books? No.
[00:35:04] Speaker B: It doesn't matter. That's all dead cap that the Colts eat. That's all signing bonus money.
[00:35:08] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:35:09] Speaker B: Not real years. The 49ers would just have to eat the base salary.
[00:35:13] Speaker A: That's not. Yeah, at this point it'd be 5, 6 million bucks or something like that. So.
[00:35:18] Speaker B: Yeah, it's, it's a very, it's a situation that would make a lot the
[00:35:23] Speaker A: contracts actually so sweet that it might require a better pick to go the other way.
[00:35:28] Speaker B: And he's still a very good player.
[00:35:31] Speaker A: But the other thing too is I gotta, you know, warn everybody.
[00:35:35] Speaker B: There's the neck thing, right? Like he had like a neck injury
[00:35:38] Speaker A: and he's not the player he once was. He hasn't played as much. And then you think you're, you know, you're getting the old band back together. That sounds all fun, fun and good until you're like, well, we maybe pushed it one too many men.
[00:35:50] Speaker B: This is a very washed energy move. Yeah.
[00:35:52] Speaker A: The unction can only take you so far. Yeah, it's great for me, but someone who likes talking in the locker room and doesn't understand any of the kids, but like, oh boy, it's, it's, it's possible. I don't think it's probable, but I think that's.
[00:36:07] Speaker B: I, I'm with you.
Do you gentlemen join Barrows in Kawakami declaring the five man front dead on arrival?
Absolutely not.
I don't think it was great. It looked like they were figuring it out and there was some inconsistency. It's interesting how they ran it, right? It was not, it's not like 4. 40 4. They're not running like four eyes. But they do have. They would have West. I was texting you about this. They would have west as a 1 and then they'd have a 3, and then they'd usually have another 3. Sometimes it was a 4i, but mostly was a 3, but they weren't angled. It's funny. They were in. They were. They would line up in like a three tech gap, but they would be in position like a four and, but they weren't truly two gapping. It's like. Like you were saying, it's a one and a half gap. Yeah. It was interesting how they ran it. It felt like they weren't totally comfortable. I will say the D line at times did get a lot of compression against the Dolphins. It would just go the other way and there would be flow and it would be, you know, hn bouncing it or it'd be somebody getting second level and creating another issue that wasn't necessarily the front. I didn't love it.
[00:37:19] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:37:19] Speaker B: And in some ways it's almost like better if you don't stack it up front and you just add like another linebacker behind it to funnel through that way. It depends on what scheme you're getting run against. But yeah, I think it was a mixed bag. It's. I would definitely disagree on the idea that it's. It's dead on arrival. They ran way too much of it in camp. It makes way too much sense for the personnel they have.
[00:37:41] Speaker A: It's going to matter a hell of a lot when probably next week when they're playing a team that's going to be in a lot of 12 and 13 personnel, though, you know, Arizona is not really doing the 13 personnel stuff anymore without Petsing. But like, they have the guy. They have. They have enough tight ends to run it if they want.
So you could do that. Denver is going to run heavier personnel to be sure. Seattle is going to do it as well.
There's a lot of teams on your. On your schedule that are going to run heavier personnel.
The Dolphins can't do that. They have Greg Dolcich. Like, he sucks. Like, I don't like they're moving around like he's George Kittle. It's like that is not that. That is George Kittle on one leg is better than that guy will ever be.
[00:38:24] Speaker B: I love the idea of what they're doing. It's just. You can't do it with the dudes you have.
[00:38:29] Speaker A: Yeah. And I do think that they pared it down a little bit from week one, which is good. But then they're still. They're still pushing it, hoping that it just clicks magically. And it's like, no. The whole point is that you need to do what you can execute. Like, you guys should be running a service academy offense right now. Like just go full option. No, I don't think five man front is done at all. I think that it is merely waiting to be unleashed when 98 comes back into the fold.
That's the person who makes the Five man front work.
[00:39:00] Speaker B: Defense needs a legit defensive tackle.
[00:39:03] Speaker A: I agree with that.
Like CJ west is the only one technique they have right now. And yeah, even though I don't think he was as bad as I thought he was yesterday after watching him today, like he's not good.
[00:39:16] Speaker B: That's why they drafted Alfred Collins. Who
[00:39:21] Speaker A: he's a big boy and I ran it literally ran into him the bathroom yesterday. He's a big boy.
[00:39:27] Speaker B: I mean Tony, it'll be interesting.
[00:39:30] Speaker A: I'm sorry. It'll be interesting to see what they do with.
Who is the, the gentleman that they signed to their practice squad here.
[00:39:37] Speaker B: Oh, the McKinley Jackson.
[00:39:38] Speaker A: Yeah, McKinley Jackson. I think McKinley Jackson needs to get into the fold here, especially this week because you need to find out if you got them or not because if you don't have them, you need to go out and get somebody else and you're gonna have to burn a 27.
[00:39:52] Speaker B: I'm sure that they would agree with you but I don't like, I don't. I don't think you're wrong.
[00:40:01] Speaker A: I think that that's all fine and dandy until you wind up against the Raiders after that bye week and Clint Kubiak is just thought about how he's going to take. Take you down and he do as you down.
[00:40:10] Speaker B: I'm. I'm with you. I think it's going to be a problem again. The stuff we talk about is the same same. It's like the defensive tackles in the run game. It's eventually left guard will show up as a serious problem against Seattle. That's sort of to Benali's question. We'll see. We'll see.
Like last year the offense was electric until they ran to Seattle. This offense more sustainable than LA than last year's one. I think the run game, it didn't. It wasn't great this game but I do think it's. It's better and having an actual second running back in black with some power is helpful.
I do think overall the offense is better structured. But Seattle's issue wasn't a tactical one so much as it was the 49ers got outdo did like they just couldn't run against Seattle's front and so they couldn't do anything else. And Seattle manned them up and they went all right, we can't. Can't do anything. Mike Evans changes that calculus Even. Even with a lot of limitations elsewhere on personnel.
So that'll be an interesting thing if his, if he's healthy of course.
[00:41:12] Speaker A: Well I, he's healthy.
That's not to say that he will remain healthy.
[00:41:19] Speaker B: That's what I mean.
[00:41:20] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, I don't think he's currently unhealthy. I just know that currently is a very short window of timing in perpetuity.
[00:41:28] Speaker B: Hip injury. He's like, ah. They're like, all right, come on.
[00:41:31] Speaker A: Also, like, come on. Can we get something that's a little less old? Man. I know injury. I mean, I know.
Forget to take your beta blockers this morning.
[00:41:40] Speaker B: Every single game. It's just the way he plays, like, YMCA basketball. Just, like, post up, like, getting to his spot, getting his space.
I love it so much. It's just there's not a lot of that. There's a lot of tick Tocky. A lot of guys doing so many shimmies.
I'm sick of the dancing.
[00:42:00] Speaker A: These kids need to learn. Watch Mark Evans. That's how real wide receiver. You know, the problem is no one operates like Mike Evans because Mike Evans is an alien bee.
[00:42:09] Speaker B: Correct. There's. It's not a replicable set.
[00:42:12] Speaker A: It looks like Kevin Durant has wide receiver pads on. It's weird.
[00:42:16] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:42:17] Speaker A: It's very subtly.
[00:42:19] Speaker B: It's very strange.
Tony, when Dieter talks to Mikel in the locker room, does Mikel acknowledge that Dieter is the founder of the Mikel Hive?
[00:42:27] Speaker A: No, he does. He does not. And that is fine. We will leave it as such.
Because, by the way, the Mikel Hive is very much alive until it ain't. And I don't need to. I don't need to be anchored. I'm not. I'm not here to root. I just. I'm sharing my opinion that Mikel Williams has a chance to be a really, really special player for people who actually enjoy watching football and don't just regurgitate. Like, what I do on a Sunday night when I get home from a Niners game, it's like NFL prime time. Like, that's how I could use a
[00:42:58] Speaker B: monumentally important piece of this team and deciding, like, what happened, happens and how far they go. Even if he's. Yeah. Even if he's like, half of what he was coming out of college to start, just in terms of his athleticism, like, I think it's. It's still going to take time, especially a bigger guy with the acl, I think it's going to take him time, and yet I'm not sure it matters a ton for what they're going to need from him in the immediate term now as he develops and as his career goes on. And in terms of like shaping the roster. And down the stretch of this season, it's going to be more important for him to, like, start collapsing the pocket. But in the immediate term, they need him to be what he is, which is like the most domineering 5 technique there is. Who's just going to collapse edges and make it very hard to run the ball 100.
[00:43:50] Speaker A: I mean, if you guys like what you're seeing right now from. From Keon White and I thought it was up and down yesterday, but on the whole, it's been really fun and important.
[00:43:59] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:59] Speaker A: Mikel also elite motor.
[00:44:02] Speaker B: Like, just really tries on a snap.
[00:44:04] Speaker A: Mikel's maybe a more controlled version of that. Kind of a third gear. Compared to Keon White, who's alternating between first and fifth and kind of grinding out the rotor, Mikel is just third gear. Clean, calm, effective. He's going to be.
Yeah, he's going to be the real dorks.
Favorite guy. He was everyone's. He was the big dorks guy in the draft. He was the big dorks guy at the beginning of last year. And I think he comes back with a little bit more spring in his step because he's comfortable now being at the NFL level. So that's my thought. I hope that comes to pass because I would like to be vindicated.
[00:44:45] Speaker B: He's a very fun player to watch.
[00:44:47] Speaker A: Yeah. If you know what you're looking for, which is.
[00:44:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:44:50] Speaker A: What we're trying to help with.
[00:44:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:44:52] Speaker A: Straight up. Learn from you. We learn a lot from you guys, but that's neither here nor there. What else do we have?
[00:44:58] Speaker B: I think.
I mean, I think that's. That's pretty much it. There's a couple, like, felt bad for Bosa not getting sacks. He won instantly. It happens a lot to Bosa.
[00:45:10] Speaker A: Well, because they're focused to be fair. Defense is focusing on Bosa, and a quarterback is always like, probably his last glance before the snap is like, Bosa. So he breaks free.
[00:45:22] Speaker B: He's also not a long armed defensive ed. So, like, wrapping up at times is. Is tricky.
Everybody's scrambling, and then he ends up just like, creating the pressure that funnels it to somebody else.
[00:45:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:45:35] Speaker B: You know, he also.
[00:45:37] Speaker A: I have really good.
[00:45:37] Speaker B: I have to say it feels like he's trying to preserve himself a tiny bit where he's like, I don't need to give every. Every single inch of what I have.
[00:45:52] Speaker A: Yeah. That second effort is. Is less impressive.
[00:45:57] Speaker B: It's not that he's not getting effort. I think he's just being cautious to not overextend himself.
[00:46:02] Speaker A: That will go away at some point.
[00:46:04] Speaker B: Agreed. Nothing clever to add. Just saying thank you. Appreciate you. Also, is Nashville a cool city to live in? Contemplating it.
Deeter saying no.
My girlfriend keeps pushing it.
I have no desire. I've never been. Which is an unfair.
[00:46:20] Speaker A: You should go to Nashville so you can find out that it's like I just. I just.
[00:46:26] Speaker B: It's hard for me to even contact moving anywhere that's hot than going to get hotter.
[00:46:31] Speaker A: Now Nashville to me, apologies to all the Nashvillians is.
It's totally fake. It used to have something to it and then it turned into. Then this pop country horseshit turned into like a mainstream thing and now every bachelorette party and it turned into sort of, yeah, like Vegas.
[00:46:58] Speaker B: I've heard there's still very cool parts of it, but you're right, like the main.
[00:47:02] Speaker A: But the very cool parts of it you have to like drive to. It's out in the burbs. It's an interest. It's not like a normally shaped city. So like the downtown where every. All those bars are, that leads right to the arena and like the stadium is just kind of on the other side of the river there. And like. But if you want to get to some of the cool stuff, like you're kind of up in the hills a little bit like over by Vanderbilt's. Nice. It is.
It does not deserve the cultural cachet that it has and it is devoid of pretty much all the deeply useful stuff. And I'm just gonna say this flat out. I think that there's a reason that some of the worst people that you know are trying to move to Nashville.
[00:47:49] Speaker B: Thanks, Jorge.
Pretty sure Daniels might be done for the season. That elbow is weak and we'll get injured again if they don't repair surgically. Basically what I've read and should probably validate this from other sources before I is that it's an orthopedic. Like, you can brace it and he can come back in a few weeks and. And hopefully he just survives. And then you can have surgery in the off season to really fix it or you can have basically season ending surgery.
[00:48:17] Speaker A: I mean, I imagine that they brace
[00:48:19] Speaker B: it like Dan Quinn's like, by the way, can Dan Quinn just like understand, like, hey, you're not going to get it.
Just take the field goal. That's the vibe you should be going for. I understand you're going to lose in a shootout, but every time you do this, something horrible happens again.
[00:48:40] Speaker A: It's a rudderless ship over there.
Yeah, Bob Myers went To go run the Sixers and suddenly no one's around.
[00:48:47] Speaker B: He is on the Gus Bradley path.
[00:48:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:48:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:48:51] Speaker A: Well, who's going to take him? Who's gonna. Who's gonna be his. Who's gonna be his. Robert Salah, of course.
Dan,
[00:49:01] Speaker B: Associate head coach of learning and other special.
[00:49:05] Speaker A: It's great to have him in the building, you know, Such a good guy.
[00:49:07] Speaker B: Yeah, we just want him around.
Yeah.
[00:49:10] Speaker A: There's no owner here. We can do whatever we want.
Hire him.
We have our own secret contracts, and we can hire it left, right and center.
For what it's worth.
[00:49:22] Speaker B: Yeah, sorry.
[00:49:23] Speaker A: For what it's worth there. I think they'll announce the Jed suspension after it's already been theoretically served, which will be four games or whatever.
I still don't think we're seeing Jed in the next calendar year. And if the 49ers win the Super bowl, they'll hand it to Dr. John, which would be funny.
[00:49:45] Speaker B: Jed might show up. Jed might show up on stage.
[00:49:47] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
[00:49:49] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:49:51] Speaker A: What else we have?
[00:49:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Last one run game looked exactly like last year. Concerning. I wouldn't say exactly, but it certainly is concerning.
[00:50:00] Speaker A: I. I just thought that Miami actually schemed it up in such a manner that I'm not as concerned. I thought Puni had a pretty rough start to the game. I thought McKivit's had kind of a rough start to the game.
[00:50:11] Speaker B: They improved his phoning it in a little bit early.
[00:50:14] Speaker A: Hasn't been great to start the season. I mean. Yeah, it just.
[00:50:17] Speaker B: It's been fine. He just hasn't been great.
[00:50:19] Speaker A: You haven't seen him pick one of anybody up by the throat yet, which then, you know, McKivitz is in.
[00:50:24] Speaker B: I think that they're biting their time. They're biting their time.
[00:50:27] Speaker A: And I don't know if Arizona. Here's the thing. I would recommend that they don't do that for this week because Arizona might actually be able to do something with that. Like those long drives that the Dolphins went on in this game. Like, Jacoby Brissette can do that. And he'll finish it with a touchdown so they can win by 15, 20. I got to get into the tape here, but, like, they could also around and find out, which would be very nice.
[00:50:51] Speaker B: Cardinals have nothing to lose and they have some fun pieces and Mike's.
[00:50:56] Speaker A: Mike's dialing it up.
[00:50:58] Speaker B: Yeah, he's. He's coaching for his job every day in year one.
[00:51:03] Speaker A: Todd Monkin off the hot seat.
[00:51:06] Speaker B: Awesome.
[00:51:07] Speaker A: That's great.
So, yeah, I mean, I'm hoping we see. I'm hoping we see Rango in. In the game against the Cardinals. That great. But until then.
You familiar who I'm talking about?
[00:51:19] Speaker B: No.
[00:51:20] Speaker A: Are you familiar with the Johnny Depp animated film Rango?
[00:51:23] Speaker B: Oh, I am now exactly familiar with who we're talking about. The image popped in my head so clearly, and I think that's where we should leave it.
[00:51:34] Speaker A: I'm also very excited to see my friend Michael Bidwell in the press box on Sunday.
[00:51:39] Speaker B: Can't wait.
[00:51:40] Speaker A: All right.
[00:51:41] Speaker B: All right, folks.
[00:51:42] Speaker A: We'll be back with car seat on Wednesday. Jake and I will break all this down before we get into the game. Larry on Thursday and then Sunday, post game. That's how we do it.
